Heading down now to mop the kitchen floor (it IS Friday, after all), and then back to DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER before the beginning of prime time TV.

The date has been set!   On April 16th I will be the noon weather person on KTIV in Sioux City. I go in around 10:00 AM so I can practice a few times and then at noon I'm on! This is going to be so much fun

That's the day before my niece's 23rd birthday.  And since I don't ususally get to work until 10:30 am (or so ;)), I'll definitely be watching!! ;D

Thanks, MattH.

We had an apartment once with dark tile, and the hard water left a white film on it, which needed to be de-icked very very often.

Yuck.

Through a fluke of tickets having been purchased, I am seeing LEGALLY BLONDE again tonight.  News at 11.

The men are here to fix the meter.

Then they had all that water in the trench. So they use a giant turkey baster to blast it away.

I think the word would describe something that seems yucky (such as the combo of peanut butter cup ice cream and diet coke) but is actually quite delicious to the tastes of the person using the word.

Perhaps it could branch out to describe some people, such as if a friend knows her mate is yucky or slimy or sleazy but is still totally attracted, in which case the slimy boyfriend would (to that person) be yuckilicious.

I am, of course, totally making this up as I go along.  :)

In the movie, "Kissing Jessica Stein," they coined the term "sexy-ugly."  Here's a bit of dialogue from IMBb.com:

Jessica: [telling Helen why her relationship with Larry didn't work out] He just wasn't funny, you know? That's always been my problem, I think. Not smart or not funny. Or not smart and not funny. Or smart, but in a totally unappealing way like funny stupid or funny dopy, rather than funny witty, or funny irony or funny goofy. Or, you think they're smart- and then you realize that they're not- and that's funny. But funny tragic. And then, if you're lucky enough to find someone who's the right kind of smart and the right kind of funny, usually they're just... kinda...

Helen: Ugly?

Jessica: Ugly, exactly. Oh my god, is that awful?

Helen: No, not at all. Ugly doesn't do it for you. That's okay. See me, I'm kinda into ugly... But only if it's sexy-ugly.

Thanks, DR Ben.

And I'm sure there's several tech-savvy DRs who will have the means to "record" this streaming video.

I know how to record streaming audio, but not video. :-\

It was a real pleasure meeting DR singdaw.  Since Dressing Room and The River House Tavern didn't start serving dinner until 5:00, we basically just head across the street to an Asian fusion place, Taipan.  Pretty good food.  -And after a scan of the menu, I didn't really notice that many "fused" dishes.  There seemed to be a couple of authentic preparations of Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Malyasian dishes.  -And the decor was cool-interesting too - we sat on the "deck" that was on top of the koi pond.  In any case...

It turns out we have similar college/professional backgrounds, so we were able to trade some "horror stories" as well as some happier tales.  And, yes, DRs, if your ears were burning... ;)  As is par for the course for HHW gatherings of all size, we laughed until we could laugh no more... and then we laughed some more.

Alas, since he had to get ready for a concert tonight, and I had to head back to rehearsal, we had to end our visit, but I'm hoping we can see each other again before I head back to New York City Sunday night.

But Edisaurus, when will you add Portland or Salem, Oregon!!!! We have theaters too, you know! I think Portland's Hollywood Theatre would be a very fine choice for your film!

We could just screen it in your................. living room.

What...no pictures??

I know, I know...  But since we just our first meeting...

And picture taking is most definitely a second HHW in-person meeting type of thing.  ;)

But, hopefully, this Sunday.

Will the frenzied ones make an appearance and push us to another record-breaking day?  Or are they wussburgering?

Wake UP, Miss Karen.  Wake UP, DakotaCelt.  Wake UP, Adriana Patti.

Well, Le Creuset just introduced their new "Carribean" color.

Ohhhh, very nice. I hadn't seen that. I'm a fan of enameled cast iron.

Maybe...
