So you're giving up the Longbow at last Jack. Do these DVD "How to" manuals really work?

Funny, I just go an e-mail promising to tell me how to add inches to my longbow.

The album cover of the night is called
"by Henry Gibson"
and it's actually by Henry Gibson.

It's a lot of the absurd poems of the type that I guess had folks howling on LAUGH IN.

Matthew and a musician friend of his met with my sister yesterday, and I guess Siluoan is going to play a gig at WOW in February.

If only you'd said Or instead of AND.
I don't have a check account
Another Guy (can't be the same one) in Nigeria was happy to receive just my savings account number.

Good evening!

I've had a full night of movies. First up was the outstanding film THE CONSTANT GARDENER. Beautiful performances and a gripping story of pharmaceutical hijinks (or lowjinks as it were) at work on the poor and dying in Africa. There were some herky-jerky camera movements that clashed with the solemn tone of the piece, but in the main, I found it a lovely, muted, earnest film of love and loss.

Next, I watched THE PACIFIER. Predictable from first frame to last, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I laughed at some of it, and it was certainly good natured. I noticed that the script was written by the two guys responsible for RENO 911 (Thomas Lemon and Ben Garrett), but they recycled slapstick bits from Disney live action comedies that go all the way back to THE SHAGGY DOG.

And I had no idea the adults in the cast included such names as Carol Kane, Lauren Graham, Brad Garrett, Chris Potter, and Faith Hill. They all worked hard for their laughs.

I liked a lot about MAGNOLIA. There were several characters in that film I found spellbinding.
