MR BK is watching a movie.

DR TCB is changing his codes.

It is time for the final runway show.

IF you are not interested in PWOJECT WUNWAY......over on TCM in 10 minutes one of the funniest movies I have ever seen in my life....MURDER HE SAYS with Fred MacMurray......I will only miss the first 30 minutes....

Highly recommended.....especially if you want a BIG laugh tonight!

I'm watching "Shutter Island" tonight. And the temperature's dropping and there's a cool breeze that makes it all too much like I'm the one trapped in the nuthouse. Great atmosphere.

I got a practically NEW LP today.... Vincent Edwards Sings! on Decca!  Nice Photo on the front....as might be expected, and probably the selling point originally since the vinyl looks unplayed.

Like DR ELAN, I was more of a liibrary person as a tyke.  I didn't start buying books until my late teens, and then mostly at the drugstore - sometimes people would give me books, but not ones that I was interested in.

My favorite bookstore now is of course The World of Wisdom.  I also like Half Price Books.  For awhile there was a huge book/cd/video store chain....I forget the name of it.  Mostly I order new books from Amazon because it's easier and there is no BIG bookstore around.  I also don't have anyone to go bookshopping with since my sister moved to Seattle - so I don't go much.

I used to go to Half-Price Books on McKinney Ave.  in Dallas back in the mid-seventies, long before it became a chain.  It was great bookstore and about two blocks from my apt. at the time.

I was very careful with the bath for Ricky.  I put a towel in the bottom of the tub and had a bowl filled with luke warm water that I slowly poured on his back.  I didn't even have any running water and he still freaked out.   I did get out the hair dryer and the second I turned it on he totally freaked.  But he doesn't mind the vacuum cleaner, so I have a feeling he has had bad experiences with baths.

He's fine now and his coat is soft and smells really good.  I don't know if I'll try it again, I may if it will help him heal.

In addition to the disappointment over not seeing the movie, we were stunned at the absolute lack of competence, concern, and customer service that was exhibited by the 2 (count 'em, 2) people working at our local multiplex.

I'm going to log off and read a book - 'night!

Almost finished with "Shutter Island." I am enjoying it, but I don't need to see another Dennis Lehane movie in which someone who loses a child screams out against the sky while the camera flies heavenward. I keep waiting for the opera music to start or for Barbra Streisand to start singing on a steamboat.

We had to drive through the country this morning to go do a jail visit.  The farmers in the area are almost done harvesting the soy beans and are working on the corn.  It's been so long since we had rain that it was SOOOO dusty.  Even with my car air set on recirculate and a Claritin in my system my allergies went crazy.

I will say that having to clean and clean for Little Ricky is helping my allergies.

DR JRAnd, I am so sorry to hear of you bad experiece with your local Humane Society. I am glad that you wrote letters...bad customer service at a place like that harms the animals just as much. If people don't want to visit then the poor animals don't find homes. :(

Also, JRand, I received a packet from you today and lots of goodies are in my viewing future!! Thanks (although I think you tried unsuccessfully once before to get me to watch all of THE TWISTED NERVE...Hmmm...we shall see).

And would you believe me if I told you that I have never seen THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE..and the main reason for that is specifically because of the reason you mention in your note that came with the dvds. LOL!

Earlier this week a woman was brutally mugged a couple of blocks from here, right in the middle of the day! Why is it I always end up living in the bad part of town!

Well, off to watch THE OFFICE and OUTSOURCED.

Was quite disappointed with the outcome of last night's SURVIVOR (which I just watched tonight) as one of my favorites was voted off.

One mugging can happen in any part of town.  I'd be careful though

DR MBarnum, I live in a very safe part of town. And yet, one of our serial killers (actually two people) struck about three-quarters of a mile from my home. It can happen anywhere.

I'm thinking about seeing one movie this weekend either Secretariat, The Town, or Social Network.   I'm leaning toward Social Network based on the notes the other day, any thoughts on the other two?
