The Silent Auction and Nacho Sale are over.

I managed to eat not ANY nachos.  :)

DR Jane:  I truly considered bidding on the second cake, which sold for $7.50.  I'd have paid $15, easily.  But I wanted someone to get something really wonderful at a good price.

We made about $400 on each event.  A percentage of that will go to the Alameda County Food Bank (that legitimizes our event) and the remainder, minus reimbursements to anyone who bought stuff in support of the sale, goes into our party fund.

I finished all my errands and business at one.  Then I ate two tuna sandwiches, then watched a motion picture on DVD, and am now listening to CDs.

The little orange kitten has a cozy nook in the laundry room. So this should be fairly easy. I think.

I watched THE OFFICE while I ate lunch. Excellent episode with something interesting with Oscar for a change.  Oscar and Andy made a funny duo.

It was nice to see Oscar have a storyline for a change. Although I was confused, I seem to recall that Oscar had a partner.

We are back, and we have both survived.  Toby handled the shots like a champ.  He screamed like a banshee when the needles went in, but calmed down almost immediately afterwards.  He is only in the 18th percentile for weight, but that's to be expected with a preemie.  Overall, they were very pleased with his development and told me I was doing a great job.  Nice to hear :)

One of the benefits of having a huge soundtrack CD collection is that when I see a film like Partir Revinir and I am bowled over by Legrand's contribution, I go to the CD closet and hunt around and I come up with a Claude Lelouch compilation that has a seven-minute track of the Legrand music.  Heaven.  That sort of thing happens all the time.  In fact, the Legrand track is playing as I type.

I know EXACTLY how you feel.  The first time I saw "The Barefoot Contessa" I was wanting to hear more of the music.  I was delighted to find I had it on a 2-CD compilation of original tracks from Nascimbene's scores.

On my CD player:  The recently remastered/expanded original soundtrack to "The Boys From Brazil."  The sound and performance are amazing, as is Jerry Goldsmith's spectacular music.  The film may not be all it should be, but the score is absolutely riveting.

On my DVD player:  More of "The Little Rascals".

Is the laundry room next door to the kitchen and, if so, does it have a nosy cook?

First Toby starts handling his monkey and now BK is looking at his belly button.  Most unseemly!

Speaking of bellybuttons - I have been today informed that I will soon be the proud owner of TWO...

the good news - the cancer is common, very treatable and caught early enought that they are foreseeing a six week treatment of radiation combined with chemo -- 6 weeks... that is a walk in the park!

They are looking at starting the treatment the first week of December so I get Thanksgiving...

I won't be able to eat after they start the treatment because of swelling in my throat so I will need a feeding tube - hence the extra belly button

well , it will be  conversation piece at the old folks home!!!!

I'm not looking forward to tonight's "Ghost Whisperer."

I don't know why they do what they do with their characters, but I thought the loss of Andrea at the end of season 1 was a seriously bad move.  That character was wonderful I totally detest the misuse of Camryn Manheim in a "nothing role" as the "replacement character."  I despise the way they wrote off the Jay Mohr character early this season..  I loathe the "new" professor on the show (very non-charsimatic).  And absolutely HATE HATE HATE what they've done to David Conrad's role as Melinda's husband.

Something tells me they think Jennifer Love Hewitt is the only character in the show worth maintaining.  I find that idea rather strange since my desire to watch the show has abated seriously in the past year.

If her hubby goes into the light tonight, I'm DONE with the show.
