In class we are learning about the latent functions of society...

Here at haineshisway.com we don't need no stinking latent functions.  There is nothing latent here.  We are a site filled with full members and more.

Just got two tax returns done in under an hour.  I'm very pleased with that.

Whether they're right or not is another story.  I'll look them over later.  :)

I was going to post the jingle with the little boy singing about Oscar Meyer baloney   My baloney has a first name, it's O-S-C-A-R...

But given the direction this board is going, thought better of it.

Oh, pleeeasee!  REAL SUBTLE DR Dingdaw -- "I WAS going to post" ....but "thought better of it."

obviously, you thought about it and then proceeded to post it all within the same nano-second...(so "innocently," too, I might add... ::)

...but I have to admit, the Oscar Meyer wiener song is most fitting, so a point to you, dear sir..

No.  None whatsoever.  DR elmore can attest to that.

Absolutely none! Totally. J'accuse!

We are seeing the final dress rehearsal of The Pirate Queen this evening. Anthony knows one of the costume people. I haven't been to a gypsy run in years. The reviews for the show in Chicago were, shall we say, not good, but it will still be fun to go. We will be sitting in the orchestra of the Hilton Theatre (FKA Ford Center for the Performing Arts, FFKA a combination of the Apollo and Lyric Theatres) spanning 42nd and 43rd Streets just west of 7th Avenue. The seats are not reserved (being a gypsy run and all) but we won't sit in back of any tall people (if we can help it).

I'll report tomorrow.

FYI, the Pirate Queen is the new musical by the folks who created Les Miz and the folks who created Riverdance. Pray for Rosemary's Baby.

Argh, Matey

Re: grease.

Even worse than watching the backstage comments is me wondering how much of what they said is edited out. I mean were they specifically asked to mention everyone's strengths and weaknesses????

I find it hard to believe any of these people would say such things otherwise!

Interesting that the Leading Men column mentions both Bruce Kimmel and Kevin Spirtas.

I saw the Sondheim segment broadcast on The Simpsons. It was broadcast last night and I saw it at some video site this afternoon. I'm glad I didn't take the time to watch the entire show. I was not impressed, but then (sorry those of you who are fans), I don't "get" The Simpsons. When it began as a short piece on the wonderful Tracy Ullman show it was genuinely funny and intelligent and worth the attention. Now, when I come across the show in endless reruns I find it tired, silly, repetitive and, the biggest sin of all, not remotely funny. Just my 2 cents.

Oh, yes, I forgot to mention that Leading Men makes those mentions (Brain from Planet X and The Creature Wasn't Nice as well as Mr. Spirtas).

Come to think of it, The Pirate Queen is kind of a cross between Cats and Michael Flatley!?

Will be anxious to hear your comments tomorrow.

Oh, dear! Big belly laugh on that one, DR ELMORE!

And when I finally meet MBARNUM in person I'll give him a BIG HUG for all the ribbing he takes here--that is, if he wants one.

I always loved the fake cat in the new(er) sabrina series. It was hilarious (to a 12 year old geek like I was).

My older son, Bryan, & I used to watch the show to laugh at the cat. ;D

So many animal actors to choose from, often my favorite is the cutie I’m currently watching.  Cats, dogs and horses are my favorites.   What wasn’t to love about Homeward Bound, 2 dogs & a cat.

We just watched a couple of Thin Man films & Asta truly holds his own amongst such great talent.  Other favorite dogs are Hooch & Rin Tin Tin.    I was a big fan of Fury.  The cat on The Closer is pretty even if “he” doesn’t do anything.

The Cheetah in Duma is wonderful.

Back from a nice jog.  Beautiful day here in the City of Studio.  For the second time in two days, Time Warner (formerly Adelphia) went down - just briefly, but it is so bloody annoying.
