As for Rent, I didn't care for the OCR when it was released.  Der Brucer and I both enjoyed the touring production when it came to Los Angeles, even though our ears were ringing from the excessive volume for a week.  Returning home, I played the OCR again...and found it a definate bore.

Horseracing, anyone?  Giddiyap!

I am sorry to say I have yet to appreciate either RENT or ASSASSINS.   :o  But I think I need to see a good production of both before I say I don't like them.  8)

I will say RE:RENT nothing gets older faster than something that's brand new.  I liked AIDA.  ;D

Yes horse racing it is, and that is certainly what makes theatre such a subjective art.  It is also visceral.  I have gone to productions I loved, the people I was with hated them....and vice versa!  I think it also depends on what we bring to the theatre.....our experience and expectation can color what we see and hear.  8)

I got back from lunch about an hour and a half ago.  Anyway, I had the roasted chicken breast footlong (the signs actually say "6 Inch" and "Footlong") on roasted garlic bread.  It was most delish and it was free (thank you stamp cards)!

As for Rent (a.k.a RENT), I really like the OBC.  I also have the OGermanC, but I haven't listened to that in quite a while.  I tend not to "over analyze" a recording or even a show that I go to see live.  I love musical theater and tend to accept things for good or bad.  I also have this annoying habbit of liking things when I get to know them really well.  So if something is pretty bad and I have to learn it to perform it (for instance), I usually end up liking it even if I originally didn't.

Or I could just say that I have low standards.

I'm afraid I must out myself as someone who rather enjoys Rent.  I'm sorry to betray the Washington clan :)  I'll fully admit to it's flaws, and that there are many many superior shows, but for some reason it grew on me a few summers ago.

I had a wart grow on me a couple of summers ago.  But with proper treatment, you can make it disappear.

Woops!  Had to go back and crop the signature!

Well, whilst the Evil Twin is off performing with flair, the cupboard doors were flung open to find more birthday pictures of a special lady:
Here she is "performing"

Jrand -- you said the photo was signed?  Did she sign as Dolores Hart, or as Mother Superior?

Has anyone ever seen Charles Nelson Reilley's one man show? I saw it in an earlier form in florida. Very funny and very poignant at times.
