I'm now off to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts' annual volunteer appreciation dinner! Free food! But the best part is that they're announcing next season's shows! After that will be rehearsal. Be back later!
I came home from rehearsal and watched "Studio 60" and had to catch up with the posts. Anyway, at the volunteer dinner (sandwiches, salads, apple crisp...and afterwards, we all played Bingo!) they announced the new season for the Washington Center. Nothing's truly official until the brochure is sent out, but it's at the printer and won't be changed at this point. The shows that are coming (that I'm interested in) are the national tours of
Ring of Fire, the Johnny Cash musical;
Peter Pan;
Gypsy;
1984, directed by Tim Robbins; and the Carl Rosa production of
H.M.S. Pinafore! There's a lot more to their season, but those are all the big shows!
