Tomorrow at work, we're having a costume contest and pumpkin goodie potluck. I didn't have any time to make/bake anything so I won't partake of the goodies, but if my white shirt is clean enough (and since I have absolutely NOTHING else to make into a costume), I'll wear my white shirt and black pants and be dressed up as an usher! I usher a lot here in town and it's a perfectly legitimate costume.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Well, I just checked my white shirt and it wouldn't hurt if it were washed, but I think it's clean enough to wear...at least for tomorrow's costume contest.

Some people (a Sondheim reference) in past years have made some pretty elaborate costumes. One guy last year dressed up in drag and was very popular...and he's straight!

One woman dressed up as "the girl with the pearl earring" and another woman dressed up herself as a bee keeper and brought her puppy dog dressed as a bee and they both had letters of the alphabet all over them. She was a spelling bee! Cute, huh?

Last year, one of the costume categories was best literary costume. The spelling bee and the girl with the pearl earring were from last year. We also had a (now former) employee dress up in a devil's mask and she carried a dictionary around with her. She was The Devil and Merriam-Webster!
