Apparently, there were actually two Playgirl Bakula features, and you can read transcriptions of them both here.

No pics, unfortunately.  :(

Well, I bought a turkey sandwich earlier at the market, and I believe I shall now consume it.

Yes, very sorry to read about Kitty Carlisle Hart's death. I was just enjoying THE DESERT SONG on CD a week or so ago.

If I had known earlier, I might have put in A NIGHT AT THE OPERA in her honor instead of HARRY POTTER/GOBLET OF FIRE earlier this afternoon.

I wonder if we will get some books about Moss Hart now that don't hedge their bets the way Steven Bach's DAZZLER did.

WELCOME to new DR BRETTY SPAGHETTI....what will your walk in music be?

Other than show tunes, I usually walk to various pop and rock stylings: Beatles, Todd Rundgren, Randy Newman, middle-period Prince, Jill Sobule, They Might Be Giants, Avril Lavigne, Keane, Travis, Jimmy Webb, Billy Joel, Jonatha Brooke, Magnetic Fields, Neil Young, XTC, Swan Dive, Aimee Mann, Simon & Garfunkel, The Smiths and Chinese diva Faye Wong.

I tend to eschew most jazz, blues, rap, metal and (yecch!) reggae. But I like a fair amount of R&B and modern country.

Have finished writing proposal and have sent it off via e-mail.

MBarnum - sunny skies we've got - it's just cold and windy, too.

Sunny! good! And since cold in LA means shorts and T-shirt weather anyplace else then I think all is well with my packing light.

I'm heading down now to tend to a few things, finish GOBLET OF FIRE, and the watch Sunday's THE SOPRANOS.

Well, well, well, we have another DR (I still catch myself thinking it is "Doctor" at times...) in our merry little troupe!

Welcome to DR BrettySpaghetti, M.D.!

(And does any other DR remember that feature that "Playgirl" magazine did on Scott Bakula?  Alas, no "hoo-hah", but still a nice article.   -Ah, now I want to see an episode of "Quantum Leap".)

I have that issue...but I don't recall reading any articles in it.

Very nice selection of musical choices DR Brettys, you will likely very much enjoy chatting with DR Rodzinski I think.

And if you should add any Pakistani pop music to your likes list...then just look me up.

Just back from the dentist.  Hand't been there in two years, so the cleaning was intense.

Still, only one cavity, and they said when I get it taken care of I won't even need novocaine.

I painted the kitchen ceiling.

Luckily for me, my DH (Dear Husband) felt a little guilty about buying a new sleeping bag for his upcoming hiking trip -- so I was able to ask him about installing that new light fixture in the hallway.

In all my years of eating sweets, I've never had a cavity.  Never.  :D

It was sold for a short time on VHS, but I suspect those are out of print, too.

What??  I never knew this!  I don't think I've ever seen Romance/Romance on eBay.  I've looked for any copies (expecting only bootlegs) and haven't come across anything.

The first time that I was in a production of Man of La Mancha (and the very first community theater that I performed in, here in Olympia) was about the time that the Man of La Mancha episode of "Quantum Leap" was on!  I didn't actually get to see the episode until I bought the tape on eBay a couple of years ago.  And it wasn't until then that I saw that Michele Pawk was in it!!  I love her!

Yep, it was for sale.  Maybe only mail order as part of that whole A&E Clairol(?) series.

And my triumvirate of favorite "underappreciated" scores: Doonesbury...

Sure appreciated here! I saw it on Broadway and have the LP (why no CD!!!!)

That show launched a lot of careers:

Directed by Jacques Levy of  Oh Calcutta! fame, its cast included:

Garry Beach:
Last seen in The Producers.
I saw him on stage in Beauty and the Beast and Les Miz (Thenardier in LA) and 1776 in NY

Mark Linn-Baker:
Played Hysterium in the Nathan Lane's "Funny Thing….Forum")
Played Toad in "A Year With Frog and Toad" - a Grandlad's favorite CD

Keith Szarabajka:
Harlan Williams in Stephen King's "Golden Years"
Daniel Holtz in Angel
Mickey Kostmayer in The Equalizer series

Kate Burton:
Currently starring as Ellis Grey in "Grey's Anatomy"

Lauren Tom
Currently in "Men IN Trees" and voicing Futurama
(did a guest spot on the Closer last year)

Hmm... So now we're all trying to figure out what to do and where to go next Tuesday when we have a 10:30AM(?!?!?!?) matinee and an 8:00PM show.  All that time in between.

Any suggestions, DR singdaw?  Or anyone else?

Awwww.......not anymore. They killed her off a few weeks ago. :(

Great post! I have really enjoyed seeing Lauren Tom on shows like "Monk." She's terrific.
