The Rev Fred Nile does not make his annual apearance until just before Sydney's Mardi Gras.

Here's thought:
Massive Ice Shelf Breaks Free From Canada's Arctic
Quote
TORONTO — A giant ice shelf the size of 11,000 football fields has snapped free from Canada's Arctic, scientists said.

Within days, the floating ice shelf had drifted a few miles offshore. It traveled west for 31 miles until it finally froze into the sea ice in the early winter.

The spring thaw may bring another concern as the warming temperatures could release the ice shelf from its Arctic grip. Prevailing winds could then send the ice island southwards, deep into the Beaufort Sea.

"Over the next few years this ice island could drift into populated shipping routes," Weir said. "There's significant oil and gas development in this region as well, so we'll have to keep monitoring its location over the next few years."

The Adventures of Marco Polo had adaptions of music by Rimsky-Korsakov, much as Kismet used Borodin.

Dvorak's opera Rusalka is set underwater.

We watched two movies sent to us by DR MBarnum: MANJI and SON OF RUSTY!

MANJI was very entertaining, with sparkling dialogue like "Let's die!" It was very lurid!

We started to watch TEENAGE DOLLS: "Hellcats in tight pants running in packs" the trailer narrator intoned solemnly. I decided to ration the luridness and go for the wholesome SON OF RUSTY. Many lessons were learned. I will never gossip again! :-)

Nor date a German Shepherd ::)

Nor be a mysterious loner who entertains young boys at his farm.

*Barb* dates Rusty in the movie---no suprise that they end up with a litter of puppies in the last scene. And they weren't even married! What lesson does this teach our impressionable yout?
