Well, you're read the notes, the notes listened and were a party, and now it is time for you to post until the listening and partying cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ANTHOPHOBIA!
-
I do not suffer from that phobia.
-
First post after BK.
-
First post after TCB.
-
jan, Neve is doing well. Thanks for asking.
-
Tom, I didn't turn on my TV last night. I didn't know who was on Colbert. Oh, well. His show is on On Demand. There's time to check it out before it goes away in about a week, I think.
-
Well, my friends, I need to go take my medications and clean the litter box.
-
And then go night night.
-
I do not have anthophobia, either so I will accept any challenges to that belief.
-
Good morning!
-
Congrats to TCB on your milestone!
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Hello, Kevin.
-
And now, good night and have a good day, all!
-
People with anthophobia will not stop and smell the roses.
-
BK:
BEWARE, MY LOVELY
Yout can't go too wrong with an Ida Lupino/Robert Ryan movie.
-
T.O.D.
Not sure what we'll watch this weekend.
We have a Bat Mitzvah to attend tomorrow and my son and his lady are coming over for lunch on Sunday.
I want to rent THE MULE, but that might have to wait.
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is not an exciting day for me: laundry and How To Succeed . . . orchestra parts. I have one more Trombone book, and I'll be through the brass. Then I'll begin the rhythm books.
-
Last night, Annabelle, Thatch, and I began the complete Hercule Poirot series starring David Suchet. The first episode was "The Adventure of the Clapham Cook."
-
DR vixmom, I was afraid you were going to tell us you had lost a finger!
-
Annabelle wants to patrol. La Belle Dame sans Merci me hath in thrall.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I took a Benadryl last night in order to rid myself of annoying sneezing and eye-watering, and because a more solid sleep never hurts.
Well, it mostly helped and didn't hurt, but I certainly feel the slow-moving-ness this morning.
I shall have to gradually energize myself through the day, as we are back to that chorus line tonight.
-
I have also been notified that there will be a cast par-tay.
-
TOD
Not much, I'm afraid.
But I think I'll listen to that SACD Chorus Line again today. I only listened once when I got it a couple of years ago.
-
Huge quick-healing vibes for the finger of DR vixmom!
Oy!!!
-
Patrol is over and the bed is made.
-
Next, the laundry.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
Well, there's something I need to accomplish. Laundering and changing the bed.
Why does it feel like such a daunting prospect today?

Jackie Gleason's widow, Marilyn Taylor Gleason, dies in Fort Lauderdale
https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/obituaries/fl-ne-jackie-gleason-widow-dead-20190403-story.html
Died at age 93. Sister of June Taylor of the June Taylor Dancers. I didn't remember knowing that. But this stuff always fascinated me, what with Gleason having a home not too far from us and the show originating from Miami Beach. It was all such a huge deal there in those days.

TOD:
"A Carol Christmas"
I hadn't heard the music since I saw the show, so it was pretty unfamiliar to me when I started listening to it last weekend - like hearing it for the first time. I was instantly reminded that the songs are upbeat and classically Bruce. Very fun!
-
I hope DC Nicky is having a pain free day.
-
DR Vixmom how is your finger today?
-
T.O.D.

It sounds like a nice weekend.
-
When we saw A STAR IS BORN, the preview for THE MULE came on....and Clint Eastwood on the BIG SCREEN is pretty scary looking nowadays.....
-
Vibes for DR VIXMOM's finger.
-
Is DR KEVIN still in Greece?
-
I am doing a wash load of lights.....and maybe I will go all the way and do a load of darks as well.....
-
I received my CD of Les Enfants Terribles today....I may listen later....THE BOOK did not arrive yet.
I also received a nice movie poster from the film September 30, 1955. It's a nice film by James Bridges that stars Richard Thomas....I have only seen it once, but I liked it a lot. The poster was up for lots of prices up to $39.....but this one was $6.95 and free shipping. Just a few small tears along the folds...
Now I want to see the movie again. I like Richard Thomas in just about everything I have seen him in. :D
-
Congrats to MR BK and CO on the rehearsal.
DR CHAS SMITH what will you wear to the cast party?
DR GEORGE....my WORKING CD is the first one on the list you posted.
-
On the stone ledge this morning examining the bird seed....a beautiful red cardinal!
-
First post in three and a half hours?
And sorry, but I gotta run. Things to do, places to go, people to see, shows to play. All that good stuff.

That's pretty cool about the poster, Jrand! The same thing just happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Fredric Brown is one of my favorite authors, and I just happened to come across a collection of the first four books in a series of books about a nephew and uncle who are detectives: Hunter and Hunted: The Ed and Am Hunter Novels (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0971818509/). I'd never heard of them before. It had a regular print run, and an limited edition autographed-by-the-editors run that included a CD of Fredric Brown himself reading some of his own short stories. The regular non-signed print version without the CD can be had for as little as $25 (the original list price was $29.95), but the limited edition is at least $100 and up! HOWEVER, I just happened to hit eBay at the exact right time and got the signed limited edition with the CD in near mint condition for the princely sum of $19.99+$4 shipping!! It arrived a couple of day ago and it's in perfect condition! I love it when that happens! ;D

I'm up, I'm up - I was up at eight-thirty, fell back asleep at ten-thirty so about six hours of sleep.
-
Nice score DR GEORGE! That's the way Ebay used to work!
-
I finished the brass parts, which became more complicated than I realized. I had a moment in which I clearly comprehended my Mother's abusive nature: I had four screens open on my computer - the trombone part I was trying to make sense of, the full score, and the other two trombone parts - and Annabelle wanted dinner, so she kept climbing up onto the computer for my attention, crawling over the keyboard, and being a nuisance. I couldn't accomplish a thing and she was working my last nerve. I could have killed her. Luckily, I am not my mother.

Thanks, Jrand! And don't I know it!

Friday afternoon greetings! Richard and I went to our former church for the First Friday noon concert. Today’s program was “Opera in April,” featuring 4 singers performing favorites. It was especially glorious to hear unamplified voices in a place with great acoustics - which it should have because it was designed by Samuel Hannaford, architect of Cincinnati’s Music Hall.
-
Picked up packages, had tuna sandwiches for the meal o' the day, and am now listening to music and choosing songs.
-
Topic of the Day: I had recently ordered and have now received all the following recordings (in reverse alphabetical title order):
The original 1979 London cast recording of Songbook (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000000PI2/)
The original British Cast recording of Song of Singapore (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D0HQ252/)
Ann Hampton Callaway's Jazz Goes To The Movies (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G1YKQ66/)
Cheryl Bentyne and Mark Winkler's Eastern Standard Time (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F732TJT/)
And the 2018 London cast recording of Company (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07NHQZQS1/)
:D

At times it is difficult when you can't shut a door. We had one cat that had to be locked out of the kitchen when I cooked, especially when I made spaghetti sauce. Tomatoes were his favorite food and he would stick his entire head into the pot trying to eat it.
It got to the point where I had to feed the 4 cats in 3 separate rooms. First by himself was that piggy cat ;D

Hello, everyone.
-
I saw my therapist, Erik, today. Erik and I often discuss health care issues as he works on me. He's quite a bit more conservative than I am, but there's a lot of overlap on our views of how things should be done. It's interesting to me to get a different viewpoint and also interesting to see how much we agree on.
-
I then went to my favorite food store across the street and did some shopping.
-
I'm glad to be home and able to relax.
-
Has anyone been watching MRS WILSON on PBS? It's one of those stories of someone leading a double (or triple) life. I find these stories quite interesting.
-
The building I live in has been going through an earthquake retrofit for the past month. First, they removed large sections of stucco, then reinforced the studs, added bolts to tie the framing to the foundation, and tied the studs together with metal anchors. It's been interesting to watch. They're now restuccoing. There should now be less building movement during an earthquake.
-
I have no other news.
Vibes to all.
TTFN.

Nope.
-
We are going out to dinner with friends. After going round & round about where to eat we agreed to their suggestion. We ate at this Italian restaurant 3 years ago and never returned. I hope it has improved.
-
This doesn't feel like a Friday. In fact, it doesn't even feel like a day.
-
Listening to some modern (circa 50s and 60s) Polish music.
-
Page three? Really?
-
Well, I can't deny that I'm not contributing much today, nor am I doing much here at work. ::)
-
So, I'm going to leave work and do a little shopping, then go home and do some laundry.
-
And maybe read for a bit.
-
And ketchup on some TV watching.
-
I've got a lot of that do to.
-
;)
-
We'll see.
Anyway, be back later.
-
This doesn't seem like a Friday.
-
There's nothing Friday about today.
-
What happened to Friday?
-
I just saw Mrs Wilson on PBS but we did not watch it. I will look into it later.
-
Right now we are watching THE TICK
-
Dinner wasnt vety good but we had a nice time.
-
DR vixmom, I was afraid you were going to tell us you had lost a finger!
Fortunately not, just a 1/2 inch divot
-
And the word of the day is: ANTHOPHOBIA!
I have exhibited signs of anthophobia, but only because in my severe arachnophobia I have mistaken a flower for a spider
-
DR Vixmom how is your finger today?
Finally healed enough that it doesn't start bleeding every time I bump it
-
This doesn't seem like a Friday.
Seems pretty Friday in here parts
-
Tomorrow is our annual chili cookoff
-
I decided to try way
-
Yesterday I bought a nice 4 lb button round roast, cut it in three pieces, dry rubbed it with smoky Spanish paprika no then marinatecit overnight in some merlot
-
Meanwhile I took some beef bones and put them in the slow cooker with beef broth on low over night
-
This morning I tossed the bones, filtered the broth and then put the meat in the slow cooker on low all day
-
When I got home tonight the beef was easily shredded with a fork
-
Then I browned a 5 lbs of ground beef and mixedthe meats together.
-
That's sitting in the slow cooker on low now with chopped onions, green and red peppers, tomatoes, garlic, paprika, chilis
-
Hopefully by morning all the flavors will be nicely melded and I do a little tweaking where necessary
-
I am staying away from the sweet this year
-
TOD
Car CD player , OBC recording of Lazarus
DVD player, blu ray of Kill Your Darlings
-
I tried to start watching a motion picture, but I'm just not in the mood so I'm listening to some Faure chamber music - lovely. Not much of a chamber music fan, but this is nice and gentle.
-
Back - from a Friday show that could mercifully be described as: bloody.
-
Fortunately, only a little bit of the blood spilt was mine.
We have five shows to go. Tomorrow will be better.
-
So, I did listen to the SACD today. Wow. I’d forgotten a lot about it. I’ll have to look for my original comments just to compare with my reaction today. A most interesting release.
-
Good evening, all.
-
It's been a really long day.
-
I went to Schulenburg, about an hour and a half from here.
-
Some friends from dancing and I went to see the painted churches, which are just gorgeous. It's just another side of Texas I had never seen before. I knew about the Czech and the German heritage, but this is vastly different. Four churches about 10 miles apart were built by these immigrant communities in a very European style. But because they didn't have stone or marble, they painted everything to look like what they had back home.
It's very different from, say, the missions in San Antonio or much else of Texas because there was absolutely no Hispanic influence whatsoever anywhere. Not in the architecture, in the decoration or in the layout. And all four date back only to the late 19th or early 20th century.

Three scenes from three different churches.

In other news, I noticed that my olive tree is showing buds for the first time. I'm hoping for fruit for the first time.
-
DR Vixmom how is your finger today?
Finally healed enough that it doesn't start bleeding every time I bump it
And you didn't need stiches?
-
Vixmom when was your last tetnus booster?
-
After the trip, I managed to get downtown on time to usher for the symphony. Tonight was a Taste of France and included Ravel's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, Milhaud's Creation du Monde, Berlioz's Romeo and Juliet, and Debussy's La Mer. Fun but long.
-
And now I'm watching the end of I'll Cry Tomorrow.
-
In other news, I noticed that my olive tree is showing buds for the first time. I'm hoping for fruit for the first time.
Exciting.

John the churches are beautiful.
-
Hi, Jane!
-
We watched season 1, episode 1 of Pushing Dasies. Did anyone watch this show? We enjoyed it and plan to watch the next episode.
-
I enjoyed Pushing Daisies back when it aired.
-
The library has ordered the Blu and Ray of The Faculty.
-
This doesn't feel like a Friday.
-
WHY doesn't it feel like a Friday?
-
Since I have to get up early, I think I'll shave and shower this evening.
-
I've had some low-fat Cheez-Its and some caramels for my snack.
-
And music, music, music.
-
Starting the move of Slaughterhouse Five, which I've never seen. I usually like George Roy Hill's movies, but Vonnegut has never translated well fror me from the page.
-
Now playing: Music from Down Under. Percy Grainger, Arthur Benjamin, Douglas Lilburn, etc. Very lovely indeed.
-
I have the morning off tomorrow. I have plenty of gardening to do. And if the bird allows, I may sleep late.
-
But I'm fading fast.
-
Good night, all.
-
I enjoyed Pushing Daisies back when it aired.
You have given me hope it will retain its charm.
-
I keep falling asleep while posting. This my 5th attemp

Good evening.

After work, I went shopping for some catfood, and then actually got some.
Went for catfood? Making your famous meatloaf again, George?
-
Hi, George.
-
Moving up to your big milestone, hey George!
-
Hi, jan.
-
Hi, Sweetpea, how's Tacoma?
-
Is Nicky better today?
-
Yes, I think so. But I think he is mad at me.
-
Tacoma is very wet tonight.
-
But mostly outside.
-
Did George run away and hide>
-
I, also, enjoyed PUSHING DAISIES.
-
I didn’t go to see that cute little house today.
-
I found out it had over 7,000 square feet of yard!!
-
I decided to pass.
-
One more post.

After work, I went shopping for some catfood, and then actually got some.
Went for catfood? Making your famous meatloaf again, George?
:)) Fortunately, not!
-
What did you do? Why is Nicky mad at you?
Oh, just for giving him his medicine yesterday.
-
Hi, George.
Hi, Tom. And hi, jan.
-
Sometimes he doesn’t mind it, but other times...............!
-
Moving up to your big milestone, hey George!
One post at a time!
-
Did George run away and hide>
No...just watching The Stephen Colbert Show. He's funny!
-
I found out it had over 7,000 square feet of yard!!
Yikes! :o That a big yard!
-
And one more...
-
Here it is!! :D I captured it on my tablet, so it's huge!
-
Tom, do you give a treat after medicine to console him?
-
Congrats, George!
-
Thanks, jan!
