Wonderful news about the Olympia production of The Brain - should 2010 be the year I take DH Hahahahaha Richard to my native Pacific Northwest?

YES.

Something to think about...

It was a picture perfect day here in Tacoma - blues skies and 60 degrees.

Since my dryer vents into the garage and I like to have the garage door open when I'm doing laundry, I am very happy that it waited until I finished my last load of laundry to start snowing

I suppose I shall be on my way to the Gardenia.  I really wish I hadn't said I would go as these little LACCTAA events really take it out of me.  But tomorrow, I think, is mine all mine - just doing to see that animated film at the DGA - Monsters vs. Aliens or something.

Welcome eighteen GUESTS.  We haven't had eighteen GUESTS since switching the board software.  Who knows, maybe soon we will be the most popular site on all the Internet.

Today's Theatre Charleston Unified Auditions went well.  They were paced slower than some of the other group auditions I've played - they had a group of 15 people each half hour - so, what would have usually been a two-hour day for me, ended up lasting three and a half hours.  But it was a nice day, a nice theatre, and during the breaks I was able to look out on a beautiful alley/walkway from the stage door.

All ages and "levels" of talent were represented today.  Like any other audition session, there were some good people, some bad people, and some "questionable" people.  One young gentleman almost made me laugh out loud with his rendition of a modern musical theatre classic, and one woman made sure to inform me right after she completed her monologue that she was going to sing a cappella.

However, I think one of my "favorite" moments of the day was when a young woman pointed to a few measures of her music.  She was letting me know that she was going to slow down in that particular section.  In her own words, "I'm going to get retarded right there."  ;)

Can you tell if there is any extra footage on the DVD that was not part of the PBS broadcast?

I'm shocked!  We used to take day trips to play in the snow.  The mountains are not all that far away from you.

Jose, how was your special dinner?

AH!!!

My special dinner.  :)  I headed back to FIG.  FIG stands for Food Is Good, and I have to say that the Food at FIG is good. Very good.

I ordered a couple of small plates tonight:
Spicy Lamb Bolognese, Ricotta Gnocchi, Pecorino (again)
Crispy Caw Caw Creek Pork Trotters, Beluga Lentils, Roasted Beets
Pan Roasted Cauliflower with Mustard Butter

And for dessert:
Greek Yogurt Panna Cotta with Strawberries

All in all, another wonderful meal, and another great dining experience.  "Andrew" took care of me at the bar tonight, and he even offered me a sample of the restaurant's house-infused pear brandy.  That was tasty too: brandy, pears, vanilla, star anise.

:) :) :) :) :)

I'm going to sign off for the night, watch the second half of North Carolina/Villanova, and rest up for Palm Sunday.

'night!
