Got home at @ 2AM...later than I'd hoped; lots of sitting on tarmacs waiting for planes to move, etc. but better than 5AM, which is probably when I would have gotten home on my original flight!

Welcome Home, Grasshopper. :)
-I hope you and Greg won't have to deal with more of that water "stuff" today.

On Jan. 25, 1915, the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell, inaugurated U.S. transcontinental telephone service.
We should all make a phone call today!
Ugh, il pleu ici
Apart from CBS which is offering up a rerun slate of shows tonight, all of the other broadcast networks are putting out new episodes for us which, for me, includes CHUCK, '24,' and CASTLE.
Note to fans:
DAMAGES begins its third season tonight at 10 on FX.
DR Druxy, I am glad you were not having a heart attack! I went through that same experience a few months back...not heart problems for me either, until I got the emergency room bill.

How did she know? The envelope was opened....but she didn't have it until it was handed to her.
I think we should start the rumor that Brandon deWilde REALLY won....and watch the inner web light up.

I'm eating a bowl of Jamaican Black Bean soup for lunch from Au Bon Pain. Bland, bland, bland...
Jane-
I am so happy to hear that your health is improving daily. Keep up the good work.
Greetings from the atrium of Atrium Medical Center, where I'm waiting to be admitted. Yes, the doctor sent me directly here for an ultrasound which detected a blood clot. I don't know too many details, but am not a happy camper.
My CD just arrived in the mail but I haven't opened the carto yet. I can spot Kimmel print a mile away!
So here's today's news: my blood tests were all fine except for my cholesterol which has gone from very good to bad. Dr Munshi and i are styied since I have not changed my diet, as I can recall, and I need to figure out what I've done. We're going to check it again in three months before she decides whether or not to put me on meds for it. Otherwise, all tests were great and I'm very happy with everything else. I have my referrals for the rheumatoid specialist, I've got my eye exam scheduled, and npow I have to do is sell that damned property in Ohio. Send some vibes, please!
I spoke to Joshie, and tomorrow I stop at Encores! to hep them with FANNY. It will be fun.
Then I skimmed through ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Nothing of interest, I was disappointed to find.

If you go to ONE LIFE TO LIVE on AfterElton each day, you can see if there will be a posting for the Boys' appearance.

Jose, thanks for the GLEE pic. I didn’t know clicking on a photo would enlarge it.

~~~Lower Cholesterol and Property Selling Vibes for DR Elmore!!~~~
DR Ginny - What color are the socks? Are they the type with the "grip" nubs on the bottom?
DR Jose - my new socks are a pretty mint green and, yes, they are non-slip.
I got to watch the premiere of WHITE COLLAR this weekend and really liked it. I love this show!
Waiting for something...not sure what. Retirement, perhaps? Sigh.
Very much in the mood for a nap.
Keep those real estate vibes coming! I appreciate the ones I've gotten so far.
Thanks, DR JMK for the advice. I need to get back seriously on my walking regimen and lose the weight i put on over the holiday.
JMK - disappointing to hear - certainly the caps I first saw would have led me to that conclusion, but then the subsequent caps I saw were better. I'll have it next Monday.
I'm sorry to hear about your cholesterol test, Elmore. I should get my results tomorrow.
Hang in there!
Does this mean I should take my PLAVIX?
i originally read that as you were NOT allowed to get up too go to the bathroom. count your blessing for the little thing you are allowed to do ;)
My home care nurse has been here to give me a blood thinner shot (ouch!), get me started on the pills, and answer a bunch of my questions. A different nurse will be here at 9 in the morning. This is much better than being in the hospital.
Very sad about Pernell Roberts. I read his obit and was quite surprised to know that he was married.
I've been watching some other clips from the fifties and it seems the envelope is already opened and the card is lying on top. I wonder what year that stopped and the presenter opened the envelope in front of the audience
VIBES that everyone stops having all health problems ~~~~~~~
Ginny, is the pain better now you are taking it easy?
Getting settled vibes to DR Jeanne!
Not much change yet, DR Jane. I think I'll need more blood thinners in my system before there's much relief. The pain isn't excruciating - kind of like a muscle cramp that doesn't go away.
A Very Happy 80th Birthday to Vixmom's Dad (and The Vixter's Grand-dad)!! ;D
Getting settled vibes to DR Jeanne!
For some reason the Canadian channel that shows CHUCK is showing it on Sundays (i guess it's cause they have the BACHELOR on mondays). So i saw tonight's show already. No spoilers, but for DR MattH there is a lot of the BuyMore!
If DR MBARNUM is correct, Mr Cal Bolder would have been surprised to know that Mr Pernell Roberts was married as well.
be prepared to be a little disappointed with the next episode or two.
Mad Mad Mad Mad World arrived in my mailbox today. Most excellent.
Up next was CHUCK which had a very entertaining caper for Chuck. Nice to see Steve Austin (the wrestler, not the Six Million Dollar Man) on the show (looking very fit).
I'm liking Brandon Routh as the guy in charge of the team now.
I think one of my biggest problems with TWILIGHT was that i had preconceived ideas of what the characters would look like. And I was quite disappointed in most of the casting. Almost nobody was how i thought they should be.
I thought the books were MUCH better. Although I am still curious to see if movie 2 is better than #1.
What did you think of Kristin Kreuk?
And now, it's time for me to go home. I need to watch "The Hangover," that I got from the library. It's due tomorrow and we now have fines for returning items late...15¢ per day. :P
Until later!
I couldn't stand her as Lana Lang on SMALLVILLE. She was much more agreeable on CHUCK. I liked her just fine.
Not having read the books, of course, I had no such preconceived notions and thus I found the casting OK for the roles they were playing.
She certainly seemed quite different and more grown-up!
Also, I knew Taylor Lautner was in the new one, but I had no idea he was in the first installment. That also surprised me.
I certainly can see why preteens and teens were so enraptured with it.
I am tempted to take this thing back.
I moved on Saturday with the help of DF&H. He managed to fit everything into the two cars. (He has a station wagon.) Today the cable guy came and got me online. The rest of the time I've spent unpacking and doing more shopping. DF&H loaned me a very fancy air mattress, which I've been using as a bed until I can find a real one. I have NO other furniture at the moment. Everything is in storage in Virginia. As I was unpacking this morning I did find some dishes and silverware, which is a help, to be sure. Right now I'm sitting on the floor, using a box of files as a sort of desk. I will be glad to have some furniture soon.
My mother uses the MAC....when she uses it....but my sister uses it a lot to show them photos and play videos when she comes over every week.....and it's a good back up for me just in case.
But HP Pavillion is not for me. Nor is Windows 7.....I'm an XP.
Making it through THE MUSIC MAN. So fun to watch this on Blu-ray, though I always have issues with repurposed HD 5.1 mixes--the source elements just don't support the effort a lot of the time.
What is this wacky thing - I went to access my iDisk. All I ever do is click on "my idisk" and it comes right up. Tonight I get some weird pop-up menu asking for name and password, which is already filled in. I click go and it tells me I've entered an incorrect name and password. I don't get it.
Even though I don't own a BD player, I've always wondered about those audio features which "enhance" the original audio "layout". Is it just a matter of making sure that all the fill speakers are used during playback?
I'm not quite sure what you're asking but if you mean, do repurposed 5.1 tracks utilize surround channels, the answer is yes, depending. ;) For something like THE MUSIC MAN, occasional foley and ambient effects will spill into the surrounds, and the music typically does as well. What I was actually referring to aside from channel usage is the "sound" of the stems, which simply aren't as clear as today's tracks are (to state the obvious). There's always a certain "boxiness" that attends some of these older tracks, especially musicals. Sometimes I just wish we had the original tracks and didn't worry so much about "upgrading."
