DR ELMORE - I used that font on a sale poster once, you should have listed me as a contributor and fellow expert.  And I printed it in yellow letters, too.  Copycat!

I learned how to make perfect omelets from the chef at a restaurant in Washington, D.C. by the name of Clyde's...it was actually in Georgetown. He taught me some neat little tricks.

I would tell you , but then I'd have to kill you.

So do I, however, I don't use butter anymore to cook eggs.  I use just a little bit of olive oil.  When I order eggs out they often have too much butter making me ill.  I'm just not used to it.

I received a nice bundle of Bollywood DVDs today, including a 1953 Hindi version of HAMLET.

Don't know what to expect since my knowledge of HAMLET is limited to the version that the castaways performed on GILLIGAN'S ISLAND.

There are no musical numbers in the Shakespeare, and, frankly,  that might improve the play in my book.

Back from Dr. Chew and picking up no packages.  He prepared one tooth for its cap today - so, yes, I had Novocain, but he gave me enough topical numb thing that I didn't even feel the needle go in.  Then he had to file down the cracked tooth to its nub - they leave just enough for the cap to bond to.  That took a really long time.  I get the real cap in two weeks, in the meantime, I have a temporary.

Well I've now reached celebrity status: New World Records has received their first email from a "Herbert expert," wanting to know why he rceived no acknowledgement for his expertise being used and abused by me in my liner notes for the Herbert Songs. I guess you're a celebrity when others accuse you of ripping them off.

The answer is really simple: I didn't use anything of his and he offered no help at all to warrant an acknowledgement. I haven't even communicated with him since 2007, three years before I  pulled songs from the Herbert Collection at the LoC.
Because he had read the name Victor Herbert before, he expected credit for that.

I ask to be
Or not to be
And that is the question
That I ask of me.

Dang, if that doesn't bring back memories.

TOD: My mom makes an amazing frittata, which she calls an omelet because she doesn't know the word "frittata." Anyway, she bakes eggs with ham, Swiss and celery leaves in a cast-iron skillet and the flavors just melt together perfectly. I have never been able  to duplicate it, and I don't know why. Mine are never as fluffy, even if I beat the eggs for many minutes, and they always stick to the pan, whereas hers comes out perfect every time.

Stop calling yours a fritta!
