DRJOSE - do you have to supply your own instrument for LESTAT?

Since it is an Elton John show, probably only his organ!

DR Dan (the Man) - Any mail for you today?

Nope, there was nothing when I left today.  But it's not unusual for something to sit in my office mail room for a day or two.  At least it's not as bad as it was last year when packages would sit for a week or more before they were brought to my desk.  I'll go up there tomorrow and see if I can pick it up myself.  But you never know with mail room staff--they can be as tempermental as backstage wardrobe people.

I honestly know nothing about art, but I do like the dogs playing poker!

And there's nothing like a velvet painting!

As was par for a lousy day, I schlepped down to rehearsal to find there wasn't one tonight because the conductor never answered my email from 11:30 this morning.  I'm going to bed.

DR George, I was thinking of you yesterday as I was listening to some music. I put on an LP by a vocal group called The Honeydreamers. Never heard of 'em except for this album. It's from 58 or 59. They sound a lot like the Transfer, only three guys, two gals. Great harmonies. Album's called "It's Dark on Observatory Hill"

Sounds interesting.  Thanks for the info! :)

And that's a surprise?  That's why at least someone in the else here can still learn about tricks!

No cake, and no paddling, just treating me to dinner at my favorite country cookin' establishment: Cowgirl Hall of Fame.

Is that the place at 10th & Hudson in the West Village?  DH Richard had heard about it on the Food Network and we went there that beautiful Saturday at the end of our glorious anniversary week in January.  Have a rootin' tootin' birthday dinner!

That's what I'm hoping for, too.  It's supposed to start here sometime after midnight and I'm not due into work until noon.

Why I Have Been E & T
by Vixmom

On Friday night I took the Vixter and two fo her friends  to the high school play (The Wiz) and from thence to Friendly's for icecream and by time we got home (after 11:30 ) I was exhausted and went right to bed.

All of Saturday and Sunday the Vixter had control of the PC because of a major project she has due this Wednesday.

This morning she and I both woke up feeling absolutely terrible.  I ended up calling us both in sick and making appointments with both of our doctors.  She had a 10:30 appointment in a town 20 minutes south west of my home so off we went at 10 to be sure... then of course sat around the waiting room until 11:30 to be seen.  After diagnosing The Vixter with a sinus infection and ear infection and prescribing meds, the GP noticed a mole on the Vixter's neck she didn't like the looks of .

She got on the phone with a dermatologist and arranged a 2:30 appointment in his office.  So we drove the 20 minutes northeast to home to drop off the prescription at the local pharmacy and then a quick lunch of tomato soup and tuna sandwiches and then off twenty minutes south east to the dermatolgist.  We were there by 2:20 and after writing out our entire life histories and giving every possible bit of personal data about everyone I have ever met on the seven thousand page medical release form I was handed on arrival,  we were politely ushered in promptly at 3:27.  Where it took the doctor approximately 2 minutes to announce that the growth was absolutely normal and benign.   GOOD NEWS there!

We then traveled back twenty minutes northwest to our pharmacy.. picked up The Vixter's  medication and some over-the-counter stuff we needed and stopped home to give her her meds prior to my 4:30 appointment at my  doctor, twenty minutes northeast of our home.  The meds were not there.  The bag was, the pharmacy notes were, the over-the-counter stuff was, but the meds themselves

...not there.

So I call to complain and say I would be back in an hour and expect the meds to be there but since it was now 4:15... I was off to my doctor, where I was seen after only 5 minutes (thank goodness) and told I had exactly the same dread diseases as the daughter, was chided for letting my thyroid meds lapse and given prescriptions to fill.

Back to the pharmacy and drop off the two scripts and pickup the missing Vixter med.

Home for the briefest of moments then back to the pharmacy I go to get my stuff.  What a relaxing sick day eh?

Sounds to me like DR Vixmom and the Vixter need another sick day to recover from the one they took today!

T Punk your avatar makes my “welcome back” seem very grand and extra special.

FJL thank you.  We were relieved to have missed all the bad weather.  If only we had known, could have left the car with the loud clunky snow tires at home. ;D

Matt H we are always glad to be home from LA.

Cillaliz, Jose, & Rodzinsky thanks for the greetings

François, yes loads of laundry.  In fact the last load, for today, is in the dryer.  I had to take a break to pick up the mail and choose the stain for our new front door.  We have decided we are tired of the rain pouring in through the crack in the front door.
