In that photo, JRand had just asked if anyone else wanted to hold a goddess and DH Richard said, "I'm already holding mine!" ***Blush***
DR Jane, I've been resting and just doing crafts all morning. The thing is my throat doesn't hurt during the day. It didn't hurt yesterday during they day and doesn't hurt now.
Hey for those who watch SURVIVOR, don't forget tonight is the 3 hour season finale.
I'm curious who you guys want to win? (especially DR MBarnum who always comes up with some sappy person :) ). Hey, hopefully you do not want Lydia!
I want Rafe to win. Next up would by Lydia.
I suppose I shall have to see Brokeback Mountain - if I enjoy it it will be the first Ang Lee film I like.
I have soooo much to catch up here, it's not funny (unless, of course, you find such things funny.)
Had a nice afternoon thus far with two movies. First up was THE PRINCESS DIARIES 2, and, yes, I was definitely not the target audience for this movie. I'm sure preteen girls loved it, and for the young at heart (DR Jennifer, that's you), it could also be fun. Even I found parts of it fun and even sweetly, innocently romantic.
I wanted to see it, of course, because there was much publicity at the time of its release about Julie Andrews doing a small amount of singing in the film.
As for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, I have nothing to say beyond how emotionally wrenching it is by its very understatement and beauty. I can't think of any symbol for innocence, hope, and love more potent than Brokeback Mountain since Kane's Rosebud. It's quite a haunting film.
DRTPunk, I wish I'd invited you to come with us.
Right now, der B is watching The Third Man on one of the cable stations. The story is interesting, but the music has me in a zither.
;D
Just me and Jane in the jernt. You'd think it was a Sunday or something, what with 38 posts at 11:30. We're celebratin' a birthday here - most unseemly.
The thing that I get a kick out of with the original King Kong is that back when it was first released, people were fainting in their seats.
I haven't heard of single movie in recent years that had that kind of effect on anyone.
I fainted from the shock of how inept and horrible VAN HELSING was! It scared the hell out of me.
Anybody want to join us for ice cream and cake?
I'm glad you had such a wonderful day, DR Ginny.Panties? These are people who wear scratchy long johns in August.
I can't believe that so many people have their panties in a wad about something as simple as " Merry Christmas". Bah. Humbug.
And do you realize that Dino has never once posted - we've made him into a legend and that's the thanks we get.Maybe he only knows how to use one kind of keyboard.
Wait... that doesn't seem quite right... I mean... ummm... Ann, that's right, that's her name, Ann!
See what happens when you leave town for the day, Ann? :D
DR George, you never posted the image of your card like you said you would.
Harumph!
"...I'll send them out and after the holiday, I'll post what it is for the rest of you."
I am in a terrible trend of buying movies and not watching them. I'll watch something if it comes on on cable, but I am not popping DVDs in, and I even have some VHS movies that I've been sitting on for a long time now.
Welcome to the club, DR Rodz!
I had been getting in the habit of buying a new release each week of movies that I didn't get the chance to see in the theatre. But for one reason or another they began to pile up unwatched. I've been trying to resist lately and just buy classics or what I deem as "must-haves" (like THE INCREDIBLES.)
What I really need to do is join Netflix.
We stopped at a grocery, bought a Bill Knapp's Celebration Cake and 2 pints of Haagen-Dasz (vanilla and dulce de leche).
If you didn't like THE WEDDING BANQUET or SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, I can't imagine you'd like this one either.
At the time she kept saying she didn’t really sing.
Hey Jose-
Up until like 9pm est, we were still on page 3, so we've really kicked it into high gear here.
George - But...but...the people you listed are all... MEN!
:)
