SNOW!

That is what the Weather Channel is predicting for my town this weekend.

It won't amount to much...up to 4 inches depending upon a convergence of weather thingies.

I know it will be pretty, but it will most likely be gone by mid-day.  It nearly always is gone within a few hours of daybreak.

This is one of my favorite classical LP recordings.  I purchased it in London on a Thanksgiving weekend in 1973.  Since that time, this Barbirolli version of Elgar's "Enigma Variations" has been my favorite of many I have since sampled.

It's been quite a day. The Access-a-Ride was 30 minutes early, and radiation folk were running behind schedule. After that, I had to see Dr Blacksburg, but because things were running late I missed my return trip. I called Access-a-Ride and I had a return trip within 15 minutes.

So, the driver called me to say he could not turn onto 77th Street. Could I walk to the corner? When I got outside the hospital, I saw a seriously crazy man lying in the middle of the street and traffic backed up. All these hospital personnel were trying to get him up. Well, they succeeded, and then he ran back and lay down again.  I walked to the corner, met ,=my ride and came home.

We had a first today in the apartment: I was sitting on the edge of the bathtub, cleaning the cats' water bowl and taking in Cat to Annabelle who was lying in the bathtub. After I filled up the dish, I said in English, "Come on, Annabelle, it's time for your treat." As I stood up, she leaped up onto my back, climbed onto my shoulder, and rode out of the bathroom. When we reached my dresser, I stooped and she strolled off my shoulder onto the top of the dresser.

Watching an episode of Maigret with Bruno Cremer. It's based on the most recent mystery I've read, so this should be fun. I wish they had not changed the titles from the books to the episodes. The book was "Maigret and the Tall Woman." The show is "Maigret and the Burglar's Wife." In the book, they weren't exactly married.

Either way, both begin with a flashback of Maigret arresting the tall woman in her bedroom where she's nude and in bed. That doesn't stop him. His men wrap her in a sheet and carry her off.

I like to surf the internet for about an hour before going to bed, but my eyes are getting rather heavy.

Tonight, I shall endeavor to sleep in my bed, rather than my recliner.  I am able to breathe through my nose this evening!!!

The question is how long will it last?  I haven't slept through a complete night in my bed in nearly two months.

Oddly enough, my Aunt Doris never slept in her bed.  She slept in her recliner every night for years and years and years.  She said she couldn't breathe lying flat on her bed.  I suggested she might need a CPAP, but she would have none of it.

I think I can trace my last full night of sleeping in my bed to the night before she died.

Is this some sort of transference?

Sleep vibes, Ron. I know all too well how frustrating a lack of sleep can be.

Jrand, I think I liked most sci-fi movies without thinking the trailer promised more than the movie delivered.

Back from a really fun belated birthday dinner with Sami and her mom at Ruth's Chris. More about it in the notes. Also, put gas in the motor car. And now, back to writing.

I think I've done about thirteen pages, so I'll write some notes now and then try to do two or three more - I'm a page or so from ending a chapter and starting a new one.

Which was tough, because it was a musical but it was back in the days of silent films.
