I've heard from Joshie, who asked me to pack my music copying kit, so I've done that. I need to get some breakfast and pack my lunch.

Morning, all!

Great show vibes for Mark. Normal Heart is such a great theatrical work that, even as a history piece, I can't imagine it not moving an audience. I think I'm still shaking from the 2004 Raul Esparza production that I saw.

TOD:
In the DVD drive: Bill Cosby (just finished it; haven't put in anything new)
Ye Olde iPod: Professor Alan Brill's lectures on hasidism, soundboard mix of Steve Schalchlin's concert
YouTube Playlist: Assorted synth-pop stuff
Reading: Empire Falls by Richard Russo

bk, love reading all the details in the notes about all your doings. Particularly looking forward to hearing more about the recording in the coming days.

I'll second that. Great stories.

I am trying to find a nice song for this year's Dancing With the Putnam County Stars....

I am thinking of a waltz.....even though the theme is COUNTRY, we don't have to do a country dance....thank goodness.

DR Jrand63's favorite artiste, Debra Messing, seems to have gotten very good reviews for her acting in her opening night on Broadway last evening.

I watched HUMERESQUE last night - those striker lighters are very intriguing.  I have never seen one in real life....but they are great fun to watch in the movies.....

If you stew cranberries like applesauce they taste more like prunes than rhubarb does.

Friday morning greetings!  I have an appointment with a new cardiologist today - no problems, just looking for someone closer to home.  After that I'll go see my Mom before the snowstorm and our Monday departure to Atlanta.

Listening to Elmer Bernstein's fine score for the COMMANCHEROS (courtesy of BK) and wondering why the title song was not used.  Other than it does quite match other vocal western title songs, I think it may have to do the song focuses on Stuart Whitman's character Paul Regret rather than the Duke's character.   Watching Tom Selleck's Jesse Stone mysteries.   Reading Steven Saylor's ROMAN BLOOD.

I think this is the title of MR BK's new novel....or something.

That picture does NOT inspire me to have a prune party.....even if they are "so easy."

I think the little girl on the right had some before she got there.  :D

TOD:

DVR:
Started watching the Keefe Brasselle/Sally Forrest film BANNERLINE last night and will finish it up this evening. Lionale Barrymore is most excellent in the role of a dying teacher.

Theatre:
Am taking my grand-nephew Cole to our local second run theatre's kiddie program which consists of a live stage production of JACK AND THE BEANSTALK followed by the movie DINOSAUR WALK (I think that is the title...I only remember that it got terrible reviews.)

CD:
A couple of Amrinder Gill CDs.

TOD:

From Netflix, I have:

IN A WORLD...
THE WAY, WAY BACK

Also, if the USPS gets through the ice/snow here in Austin:

CAPTAIN PHILLIPS
BLUE JASMINE

I also have a film called CONCUSSION to review that looks intriguing.

I have never seen a live production of JACK AND THE BEANSTALK....we expect a full report.

We have earned a free pizza from Papa John's - so that will be lunch today.  No cooking at our house!

I just saw a preview for THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE on TCM that had some really strange music under it....no dialog track....just some words saying "if you miss the first five minutes you won't know what's happening" and "when it's over, you'll say you've never seen anything like it..."

I haven't seen that preview before....the music was very mysterious and melodramatic.....

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that sometimes you can look to the past to solve present day problems....you have already solved some difficulties you face now, remember what you did before...and if it worked....use that solution again.
