Another lesson in why Facebook stinks. Hundreds of people are sharing an article with a click-bait headline that says 250,000 new cases of Corona have been linked to the Sturgis motorcycle thing - only problem is, it's a LIE. As I've been posting everywhere, to no avail because people want the outrage and negativity no matter how bogus it is:
The headline is a complete lie. This is a STUDY, not fact, and it's based on cell phone data that may not be accurate, which they admit, and it's done by economists, not scientists - all projection, no reality. There have been seventy cases that have actually been linked to this event. I'm bored of setting the record straight on this today 🙂 What I've posted elsewhere and a link to a proper article: It's total BS - it's a STUDY, not fact. FACT is that there have been seventy positives that can be linked to this event. The headline is click-bait and an outright lie. I've researched, and this is why I HATE Facebook in terms of these sorts of things. The headline isn't just click-bait, it's an outright lie. Here is an article written by people not looking for click-throughs - this STUDY was done by economists using unscientific cell phone data that may or may not have been accurate to say this COULD be the case, not that it IS the case, well, read the real article from Forbes - it's all supposition and no scientist or epidemiologist has said this has any basis in
reality whatsoever - as of last week there had been seventy positives that they THINK can be linked to the event: "
