DH and I decided we wanted to see something different so we went to a nearby town, about 1/2 an hour north for dinner.
An old mill, built in the 1870's had been converted into a restaurant since we'd last been there. We hadn't heard anything about it but it looked nice so we decided to give it a try.
Wow! It was so beautiful inside and the food was wonderful! A splendid example of adaptive reuse done right:
http://www.acwortholdmill.com/I had the best green beans I'd ever had in my life and also splurged on a lobster casserole, and DH had a huge ribeye. He also had collard greens...again, the best I've ever had, and we both had whipped sweet potatoes. For all that, drinks and dessert it was surprisingly cheap: 48 bucks.
The staff was nice and the dress was very casual, since it's near a big lake. My kind of place!
Since we didn't go out on our anniversary, we decided this would qualify as our celebration dinner. It has been ages since we've had a meal that was such a delightful surprise! (Considering we weren't at Jose's that is...)
