HA! My '80s list is so...American. No "Wings of Desire" or "Babette's Feasts" from this slack-jawed yokel!

Saw this today in my local Borders.  It's quite fascinating!!

I saw it yesterday at Barnes and Noble! I just noticed it out of the corner of my eye and thought, "That looks interesting," but failed to hone in on what it was all about. Now I am kicking myself for passing it by.

I guess that the antibiotics are taking effect, for now I am in pain!
The swelling went up last night, completely closing my right eye.
Of course this was before bedtime, and I did manage to take in GOLDENEYE on dvd before the swelling continued.
Then, in the middle of the night, the pain began.  It's supposedly 'good pain,' meaning that the drugs are doing their work.
The swelling has gone down this morning, especially so after a long, hot, hot shower.
Thank goodness I don't go to any workplace until Thursday morning.
Still a chipmunk, though.   ;D

I think I made it perfectly clear yesterday that I enjoy being embarrassed. Keep that praise coming, folks.

We at HHW are always willing to oblige. ;)

Maybe I am reading the wrong notes. Is that different from the daily column? (Today's daily column is BK's notes, so I assume it is not.) The last paragraph of today's notes is: Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below

And you did not click the Unseemly Button below and read what was there?

Hello, everyone.

In case BK didn't tell you, I've been laid up with a nasty case of food poisoning.

That's what I called my last bad date, too!

The method is very low-tech but surprisingly effective and evocative!

Sad news that film director Anthony Minghella (The English Patient) died suddenly of a brain hemorrhage following a routine operation on his neck.

That's sad, but what neck operation would be considered routine?

Well...

The Polticos urged Barak Obama to sidestrp the "rae issue"

He decided, instead, to confront it head on.

His speech in Philadelphia hit the ball squarely out of the park.

"Reasonable" people will be assuaged/convinced - and for the others there is no hope.

"Issues" aside, if your want a new leader for the 21st Century this is the man.

To be more precise, "td" and a few others are always willing to oblige.

Nothing personal, BrettySpaghetti, but the few who are gushing are doing so on their own recognizance and not representing the rest of us who can contain/comport ourselves without drooling.    ;)

TOD - well, not really - more like the TOTN (that's title of the notes in internet lingo).  But in Sweeney Todd, Mrs. Lovett has a line in "More Hot Pies" when she says "Cor, me bones are weary" - who is Cor or what is cor?   Anyone?

Drooling is for babies and old men.  I'm neither.  I merely recognize a good thing when I see it.  8)

A "geyser" is the ticket.   It's like a slip 'n' slide in here sometimes!

Matthew, this is from a site on British slang:

Cor - You'll often hear a Brit say "cor"! It is another one of those expressions of surprise that we seem to have so many of. It will sometimes be lengthened to "cor blimey" or "cor love a duck", depending on where you are. "Cor blimey" is a variation of "Gawd Blimey" or "Gor Blimey". They are all a corruption of the oath "God Blind Me
