And the word of the day is: EKSTASIS!
The word is that SPIDER-MAN cancelled its invited dress rehearsal. Does anyone know if that's true?
If it is true, I wonder how that bodes for the first public preview performance tonight.
Jrand - Many many thanks for your comment.
I would like to get dressed. But will probably wait until my other niece and sister come back from swim class. Hopefully my niece won't have had another meltdown. For some reason she get "stomach aches" when she goes swimming.
This teacher is quite hard on them. The odd part is that she had gone for 2 years to the same pool with her daycare class and thrived. But this session she's been having problems. Even though she can swim the width of the pool she psychs herself out! Hope it won't be a nightmare today.
Good morning. Had one of my woke up not able to breathe episodes in the night last night. They aren't as scary anymore, but are definitely not pleasant. Once I found my inhaler I was ok.
today I will cook our turkey for our home Thaskgiving meal
Of course comedy is in the eye of the beholder...or at least that is what I say when it comes to the old BLONDIE and Dagwood movies.

Well they were funny - but not as good as the Ma and Pa Kettle films.

Elmore areRandy & McBeth reluctant to employ a realtor because of the commission cost? Or do they want to wait for the depressed real estate market to rebound so the property will be worth more?
I never get tired of Abbott and Costello.

They do not want to pay a commission, but the realtor I spoke to says they won't see anything remotely close to what they wanted for 5-6 years. I want a realtor for the simple reason that someone will then be promoting the sale of the property. The two blockheads are doing next to nothing. It's all been JoAnn's work so far.
The Romanian philosopher and political scientist Cătălin Avramescu is the first scholar to notice the importance of the cannibal in modern European thought, and to attempt to write a comprehensive intellectual history of anthropophagy. His book first appeared in Romanian in 2003 under the title Filozoful crud (“the cruel philosopher” or “the raw philosopher,” depending on context), and in 2009 was published by Princeton University Press as An Intellectual History of Cannibalism. In June 2010, Justin E. H. Smith spoke with Avramescu in Bucharest about, among other things, the difficulty of intellectualizing such a bloody topic as this. This interview was subsequently fleshed out in a series of e-mail exchanges.

What is it that Woody Allen said?
"Those who can't do, teach...and those who can't teach, teach gym."
It's pretty much the same way with critics, isn't it?

Sunday afternoon greetings! We are back from Lima, with stops at the Dayton post office to mail a birthday card that has to be delivered by Tuesday and at Kroger, which was very busy. Is there a snowstorm predicted?
Thanks, Jane and JRand. Apparently they are very gentle creatures. They certainly didn't seem to mind all the kids. (Big kids, too.)

If she is getting stomach aches chances are she is swallowing air and/or water as she swims. I can have a tendency to do this.

With constant articles, at least I've seen them, the housing market will improve in 2011 your brother's might not want to believe the realtor, plus believing also demonstrates how wrong they were not to sell back when they should have.
No matter how right you are, and have been all along, it seems you are fighting a losing battle. They obviously don't need the money as much as you do and have no wish to buy you out. If they do agree to buy you out I expect it will be for a lot less than you might get if you wait until the property sells.
From what you are saying I fear next you will lose the close relationship you have with Randy and the property will still be unsold. Does Randy understand how important the sale of this is to you financially & the reason you continue to talk to the realtor against his wishes? Without apologizing maybe he will accept your reasons if he understand your motivation and not be angry at you anymore.
Even some of the adaptations have failed to make the transition well from stage to screen...
i agree with DR Jane. But I still don't get why your brothers don't want a realtor. Don't they realize that most people use one. And if they don't want to use one then they need to actively try to sell. Why are they worried about the commission when they've seen nothing for years.
The Oregonian addressed the entrapment issue today and called it a non-starter for a whole slew of reasons, though they said the guy's defense attorneys will still probably make a go for it.

You and Jane are making the same mistake - trying to solve a long term festering sibling rivalry with logic, reason, or common sense rarely works.

Had a great day with mom and dad. I showed them what I was doing with my house. They love the den, mom said she would live in there. We discussed colors, not sure what I'll do, but have decided no couch or futon or other sleeping furniture in there.

There are comfy style chairs that can covert to single beds, if you decide on that style to begin with.

Nope, I'm going to keep it with the two recliners. The new one isnt' that comfortable yet, but it will be as the cushions get compressed a little from use
Cilla I hope you are very happy with your Nook.
Oh, Cilla, do you get to start using your Nook right away or do you have to wait until Christmas?
When I was a kid, about a hundred years ago, I used to grumble that when I grew up I would be able to buy a can of olives and eat the whole thing if I wanted. Now that I am an adult, I don't think I have ever actually done that. Until now!
Then we went to Barnes and Noble and they pitched in on a Nook for me. I got the one with 3G and Wifi, but didn't go with color. The color is backlit and looks like a computer screen. It's supposed to be harder on your eyes than the regular Nook. I'm very excited about that.
We are back from Long Island. We had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving with no stress. The weather was a bit iffy on Friday but it cleared up and all was fine. We ate turkey, Chinese food, sour cream raisin pie and we had madeleines and tea with a friend.
I bought some new jeans. I decided I'm tired of buying men's jeans and either cuffing them and sewing the cuff or having them altered. I want to wear pants that fit. So I went back to the boy's department (I used to shop there a lot in the 80s) and bought two pair of Wrangler jeans, $7 a piece. They are Boys Size 16 Husky. I'm 57 now so wearing "husky" means absolutely nothing to me. It's nice to put on a pair of jeans and have them fit!!!

I've never had sibling problems like this. And I am sure it will damage his relationship with the brother he likes. But if he needs the money and the others don't care then I think he owes it to himself to do what is right for himself. Just my opinion.

Neither were the original, unexpurgated "Eloise" books. I remember getting ahold of one when I was a kid and asking Mom what a nymphomaniac was because it was in the book. DR elmore - There's an "Eloise" shop set up in the Shops at the Plaza Hotel - right next to the newish Plaza Food Hall by Todd English (http://www.theplazafoodhall.com/). I saw the Kay Thompson bio displayed prominently on a table along with various "Eloise" books and plush dolls. Alas, some of the little girls who picked up the bio, well... They could tell it was not a children's book either. ;)
Eloise was a nymphomaniac? What's next, Little Bo Peep was a hermaphrodite? :)No. Someone staying in the hotel was and she overheard the conversation.
