DR Jose - I'm glad to hear you're on the mend and getting some down time at your parents'.  Take care!

And next time we're in NYC, will you take me to the Eloise shop, for Lord's sake?

I'm back from visiting my friends Loyce and Gordon. After dinner we took a driving tour of the area and saw all the Christmas lights put up so far. Some are quite lovely and some are pure kitsch that only DR MBarnum could love.

Thanks Jose, for your updates.  DP wants to know if there would be a song in S-M:TOFTD that resembles "The Thirst"

OK, all the Thanksgiving decorations are packed away and stored in the basement.  Richard brought up 3 Christmas decor boxes, which should keep me occupied tomorrow.  Now I have to unload the second batch of dishes from the dishwasher.

Oh, Cilla, do you get to start using your Nook right away or do you have to wait until Christmas?

I have it and am charging it right now, lol.  Mom said "You realize you won't have anything to open under the tree" (which isn't really true, because I know about a couple small things)  I said..."I'll bring my Nook and sit under the tree with it".

I get to use it now.  They usually give each of us a check for the same amount.  That's really what they are doing but we are saying that their money is going toward part of the Nook.

They will enjoy seeing you enjoy the gift they gave you!  Richard took me along to do his Christmas shopping at one of those chain jewelers with the sappy commercials (think "Every Kiss...) and I selected something sparkly and beautiful.  But I can't have it until Christmas...

I got mom some nice perfume that is much more expensive than she would ever get for herself.  She was really quite thrilled and surprised when we heard the price and I still wanted to get it for her. My guess is she'll forget by Christmas.  She wants me to hold on to it and wrap it for her.   She always takes me with her to get my presents.  I usually forget the things she wraps.  If I get it early, like this year, it's ok.  The unwrapping isn't that big a deal to me.

DR Cillaliz - I wrap the presents that go in everyone's stockings except my own.  When opening time comes, I often can't remember what's in the packages I wrapped just a few days before.

DR Cillaliz - Did your B&N have the Nook Color in stock? I keep seeing news reports about how the Nook Color will be shipping earlier than previously stated.

I'm not sure, no one was looking at the Nook color and even the clerks there were pointing out that the battery life is shorter and it's harder on your eyes .  They must not be working on commission.   I saw one, it's like reading a computer screen.  I think it would bother me.

Speaking of things culinary, I have a preliminary interview tomorrow morning with www.StarChefs.com, a culinary site out of New York City. I  hope with what they are offering that I can stay in San Antonio (that is, if I should get the job).

Mega job vibes!!!

A lady who I knew (and didn't remember) back when I was 10-12 years old contacted me today on FB.

We chatted back-and-forth during the day and she wound up buying 2 of my books on Amazon.
