Tonight I made braised red cabbage with apple and onion for dinner. I have enough leftover for a few months. I think I have to freeze some of it.

Two days ago, I was told that they wouldn't start work on the house until around July 17. Today I was told they'll be here Tuesday.

I have work to do. I have to get everything off the outer walls. And I have to get some yard work done.

Today, the CEO casually dropped the news that people (as in plural) who had tested positive for the virus had been in the main office building. He didn't say when, before or after we started working from home, and he didn't say anything else.

Casually, without details  :o >:(

Oh, well. We can have a virtual party. They can show some videos and we can drink from the safety of our homes. Isn't that festive?

Why bother ;D

Good luck.  Did you decide on the paint color?

They won't be doing anything this year. And it's probably for the best. The economy has taken a hit. It naturally affects us. I prefer keeping my job.

I wonder what DR DRUXY is up to in San Antonio?

Why would I be in San Antonio?

I live in Austin.

Druxy, I understand your boredom with staying home. Have you considered a car trip? It's a way of getting out and about, you could skip the mask while in the car, buy some take-out at your destination, browse/hike/ramble, then have a leisurely drive home. We need to be creative these days.

Something to consider.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I've just been informed that the audio version of JASON ROBARDS AT THE OLD PLACE is now available for download at audible.com, Amazon and iTunes.

Tony Bingham delivers a terrific performance as Jason Robards, one of the finest actors of his time.  The one-person play, which is set in Agoura California's legendary restaurant and bar, is enhanced with music and and sound effects.

Will there be photos of the colors or do we wait until it is done?

I've just been informed that our Zoom rehearsals are done.  They all went very well - gave some notes, had a couple of tracks adjusted after hearing the singers do them, etc.

Now I'm listening to Kaiserin Josephine.  One thing I've noticed about Kalman's operettas, they do on on and could benefit from a little skillful editing.

It's the American. With Carrie Underwood.

Watching Mike Leigh's Naked. I remember liking this movie when I saw it at the theater. I don't like it much at all now. The people in it are not sympathetic, which is part of the point, I realize, but I'm not thrilled spending 2 hours with them.

Watching the extras on Naked and I've decided tomorrow's epic will be another Mike Leigh film. I haven't seen Topsy-Turvy since it came out 21 years ago (is that possible?). It's close to three hours and it has a cast of 100, which certainly makes it qualify. Looking through the booklet, I'd forgotten that it was Shirley Henderson who sings "The Sun Whose Rays" toward the end of the film. A most amazing performance of a personal favorite.

Good night, all.

Vixmom, I don't know if the cabbage would survive the shipping, but the bacon that was in will certainly preserve it awhile.

Listening to a piece of Mahler's following the Kalman operetta - once that's over I'll listen to the next Kalman operetta.
