Well, you've read the notes, the notes did it for Elmer, and now it is time for you to post until the doin' it for Elmer cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EUPHORIA!
-
First post after BK.
-
Today at work is the cut-off for paying the invoices for this month. Then, I'll have Monday to scan and make PDFs of all the invoices, and to compile the report for the Finance department.
-
We're also going to be rearranging/remodeling, so I need to start cleaning up and organizing my cubicle, and divesting my space of most of my personal stuff.
-
I might go in on Saturday, but we'll see how I actually feel about that on Saturday.
-
And now it's bedtime.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I must leave at 830 for my barber, then I have the orchestra reading of Mack & Mabel. I will return around 6:00 to face several hungry kitties.
-
I didn't sleep well. I remember bits of two dreams. In the first, I became involved with an eccentric, strange young lady calling herself a "research assistant," and two young men. Early in the dream, when the young lady made her appearance, my apartment was a synthesis of the one I live in and my bedroom in Ohio at my parents' house. Later, I was living in an apartment building in Manhattan and the young men who were working with this young lady were neighbors.
-
In the second, it was the 55th anniversary of the Miami University Summer Theatre, and the costume designer had been murdered. There were a lot of faculty, local cast people, and students I knew. It was all rather convoluted.
-
I forgot in yesterday's TOD The Rifleman, which my mother loved, and Have Gun, Will Travel.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Show vibes for BK and company!
-
Travel vibes for Vixmom!
-
Kitty cleanup is finished. I need to take my meds and get out of here.
-
DR vixmom, have a safe trip and return to us safely.

-
Good morning, all.

Exhausted. Blessedly, there is no rehearsal this evening.

Wasn't Euphoria the name of the mayor's wife in The Music Man?
-
I forgot in yesterday's TOD The Rifleman, which my mother loved, and Have Gun, Will Travel.
I am pleased to see this. I was very surprised they hadn't been mentioned, especially Have Gun.....
-
Last night I thought I posted "I am falling asleep".
-
This morning I found I had typed "I am falling sleepy " and never posted it.
-
I guess I fell asleep first ;D
-
Sleep. Not in my vocabulary this week.
-
I found a book at the library called 99 Bottles, written by Andre Houston Mack. He’s from San Antonio and got his start as a sommelier here, which is when I met him.
-
We’ve stayed in touch via Facebook as he went to work in California at the famed French Laundry.

You mean, Mean Cats??

That's pretty cool, John.
-
Reading Andre’s book has been fun because he mentions all of the places he worked here and people he worked with, sometimes by name. The stories or lessons tie in with a wine or spirit, leading to the title 99 Bottles.

Topic of the Day: just received from The Metropolitan Opera (bought through Amazon.com), the new Met Opera cast recording of Porgy and Bess (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082XNMM6Y).

One of the stories left me teary-eyed. He wrote about mutual friends, Richard and Gigi Toupal, who were amazingly generous with a number of us. When I got laid off and too many people dropped me from their social circle, Richard kept calling, asking me to lunch, even inviting me to their extravagant Christmas Eve party. Then Richard died, which left a big hole.
Andre doesn’t mention Richard’s death, but he does create a lasting tribute to two wonderful people.

Nice.
-
I didn't realize that this new recording of Porgy and Bess is a live recording. I do now. :)
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.
-
Must now relax and rest my voice and then I'll start warming up for this evening.

This brought tears to my eyes.

I am sorry people dropped you from their social circle >:(

Right now I’m not.
-
;D Good !
-
I shall now be on my way to the Autry.
-
DR George, I guess we are also voting. Our ballots arrived today.
-
Shostakovich and Tchaikovsky tonight. Should be a very romantic program.
-
I am home from a long day out and about. My hair is finally cut. I kept cancelling during December because of mobility issues.
-
The reading of Mack & Mabel went very well. Because i am a perfectionist, there were more clams than I would have liked, but Rob and Joshie were very happy with things overall. The orchestrations are quite beautiful, and the band played very well./
-
DR Chassmith, if I'd known you had a free day, I would have invited you to the reading!
-
The cats have eaten their Fancy Feast Chicken Feast with gravy, and I'll give them a treat in another hour.
-
DR Chassmith, if I'd known you had a free day, I would have invited you to the reading!
At times like that, I wish I lived in or near New York! ;D
-
But I'll stay right where I am, thank you very much. ;)
-
And now, since we're so close...

Well, I need to leave work.
Be back later.
-

Oh, that’s very nice of you. And I’m sure I would have dragged myself there and totally enjoyed it. But I did well catching up on some much needed down time. Thank you, regardless!

Greetings from Lumberton North Carolina
-
Apparently today was national road work day ....vixdad had another name for it which was somewhat less friendly family
-
We left out house late4 than we wanted to because he received an emergency call from work that required him signing in on his laptop
-
So it was after 10 when we set off.
-
After an hour we were approximate 6 miles from home since some genius decided to set up “rolling road work” and blocked off 2 lanes of a 3 lane parkway for 7 exits.
-
We got past tha5 finally to travel another 10 miles and run into the same damn thing!
-
We got on the I 95 finally about 3 hours after leaving the house (it should have taken about 1) and now safe from road work slowdowns people decided to keep crashing their cars , apparently for the entertainment of passerbys who dutifully slowed to a crawl to get a good look, take a picture, paint an oil portrait of the occasion....
-
Hopefully tomorrow we can get an early start. We hope to be at our time share by 4:30
-
We’re off to bed
-
Good night all
-
Oh one last thing is anyone going to the Mack and Mabel matinee on Saturday the 22nd?
-
The Tchaikovsky Concerto No. 1 was pretty wonderful, thanks to the pianist.
-
I also liked the Shostokovich selections from The Gadly.
-
I think the audience liked Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet best.
-
Hellooooooooooooooo, Lumberton!
-
Good night, all.
-
Page THREE? Really?
-
Just before the concert I got the news that my friend Marsha Kramer passed away - cancer - she didn't want anyone to know, apparently. She did Peter Pan with Sandy Duncan, did my show Together Again, did all the readings of my musical Pals, performed with me at the Gardenia, did a Kritzerland, and one of the ALS benefits. A dear, wonderful gal she was.
-
The concert was great fun - I was pretty on and some of the patter really got huge laughs and I kept the way too long show moving as best I could. We try to limit Henry's opening patter to three minutes - he did twenty-two minutes. That will NOT be happening tomorrow afternoon. But we should also eliminate two or three numbers.

Oh, my goodness! Twenty-two minutes?? Did he think it was HIS show?? :o

What a horrible day of travel. At least the "safe" part of your vibes worked.

So, the earliest movie that I recorded (in 2016 or 2017) that I still have on my DVR for which I wanted to make a Blu-ray is Bette Midler's concert film, Divine Madness.
-
TCM broadcast the original theatrical version, which include two songs never released on any home VHS or DVD release!
-
And the movie itself has never been released on Blu-ray.
-

I saw Ms. Kramer three times on Broadway in PETER PAN. She was wonderful as Wendy. My condolences BK on the passing of your friend.
-
The original Divine Madness soundtrack, while it didn't include any of the comedy routines or seven of the songs from the movie, I'd read somewhere that it did include one song not in the movie....I don't know which.
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
I've read a couple of articles that list contradicting missing and/or added songs. :-\
-
Well, as I go through the movie while adding the chapter breaks, I'll find out what songs are actually there.
-
Two minutes to get this paltry posting number up. TWO MINUTES.
-
Let's do this.
-
If anyone's interested (and even if you're not), here's the complete list of songs that might or might not be in the movie or on the album.
-
Because I must get in bed right after I post the notes.
-
I compiled this list from various articles:
Big Noise from Winnetka
-
I'm interested in more postings.
-
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
-
I'm interested in page five.
-
Chapel of Love
-
This is unseemly.
