And for someone who rarely turns on the television and hasn't watched a reality show since "Starting Over" was canceled, I know a lot about American Idol.

Next, I watched THE SOPRANOS from Sunday night. As the show winds down, the action has started heating up just a bit. With only two episodes to go, who knows what directions the show will go into now?

I finished the afternoon watching more of the Peter Cushing HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, this time off the DVD rather than off the Encores channel. MGM didn't do an anamorphic transfer, but at least it is letterboxed, so I got the TV to stretch it out, and it still looks very good with just a little print damage. The Encores presentations are always full screen, so I prefer the small letterbox they're using with the 1.66 transfer.

I still have SVU to go, and I may try to squeeze in another PLANET EARTH episode if I can tonight. Since I won't be watching IDOL or the LOST recap show, my prime time won't start until 9.

The Telarc label was the one that consistently used index markers for their classical recordings in the early years of CD.  I don't know that they do this so much any more...

How many CD players are still made that can even read or indicate the index markers?  I remember seeing those listed on a couple of CDs that I own, but I've never had a player that can actually show them. ::)

Back from a nice lunch with dear reader Jeanne.  She'll be back home on Sunday and will hopefully begin posting again.  We ended up at The Cheesecake Factory, which was surprisingly empty at lunch time.

Whew!  My presentation's over and, for the first time in 2007, all the AV equipment worked the way it's supposed to.  In celebration, I just ate a Dark Chocolate Snickers - mmmm.

DR Ben - love the Florida pictures, especially the Key Lime Pie!  My one and only trip ever to FL was to Sanibel Island.

I've got the den to clean, so I guess I'll head down now and get to it. Then, it's back to viewing the other things I have lined up.

Here's another way to pass the time that a friend of mine just forwarded to me:

What Was the #1 Song On the Day You Were Born?

DR Tomovoz - Alas, it only applies to the U.S. Billboard charts.

Great stuff nevertheless DR Jose. I do have the billboard Book on Daily #1 hits.

Rodzinski will love this too.

The # 1 song on the day I was born was: "Dominique" by The SInging Nun

Somehow that seems appropriate DR MBarnum. Is it because you're a lesbian?  (a JMK and Betsy reference) (DRs FJL and Elmore will know the connection).

The #1 song on the day I was born:

"The Chipmunk Song" by David Seville & the Chipmunks

Almost a Chippendales Reference.

I don't think Simon, Theodore and Alvin would have made it though!

Hmm...My Boyfriend's Back, by the Angels...

How appropriate!    :P

Check out the Answer song by Bobby Comstock.

I think "The Angels" is very appropriate too DR ScreenDoor.

And just for BK, and those DRs who dare to look...one of the best scenes from THE CREEPING TERROR!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgQ-WZVSuLg

I liked the MST3K treatment they did to this movie---singing about the shaking rump and screaming about the piece of lettuce in attack mode.

Tonight, I'll be recording "Lost."  I'm going to see a local production of The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.  I'm sure that it'll be quite nice.  The theater group tends to cast nubile young men...and this show needs a lot of them. ;D

Thanks, DR MBarnum.  I love the way the guy practically pushes his girlfriend right into the beast's maw.

With a little incentive( not monetary) I'll make a compilation CD of the songs mentioned today for those interested.

Question for one and all DRs and bk,

What was the first tv show, aside from children's programming you remember seeing  on television?

I LOVE LUCY.  In the Fifties they didn't have a lot to fill up the television day with, so I saw lots and lots of LUCY and DECEMBER BRIDE and I MARRIED JOAN.  That is probably why I can't watch Lucy reruns to this day.  And there was the one lady on the Lucy laughtrack who they used when Lucy was about to get in trouble.  It was always the same, "Oh oh...followed by a titter"

Okay, I missed something.  What is "The Lot" and what's it all about...Alfie??
;)

It's a reality show about young filmmakers co-produced by Steven Spielberg. That's all I know, since I forgot to watch it!
