Good Evening!

It certainly was a glorious afternoon for a jaunt in Central Park and the Upper West Side.  I went here, I went there.  -And, yes, I did stop into Levain - my first time in a week!  ;)

I peeked into Grom, and noticed that original Italian crew was not working the counter.  They had a trio of college-age men wearing t-shirts that said "conista in training" on them.  Sort of cute - the t-shirts, not the co-eds, that is.  ;)

Maybe I forgot because I hate reality shows...but since Spielberg is attached I want to give it a chance.

So, is there another "Lost" recap show tonight?  I thought it was just the two-hour finale tonight.

Hey, DR elmore - I would actually like to see "Hot Fuzz" again.  So, if you do end up going...

*Although, while I was in Chinatown on Saturday, I did buy an "advance copy" of the "Hot Fuzz" DVD.   ::)  :-X

So far I'm only missing (maybe) Dear Reader Laura's Song by Arthur Collins.

Here's another way to pass the time that a friend of mine just forwarded to me:

What Was the #1 Song On the Day You Were Born?

DR Tomovoz - Alas, it only applies to the U.S. Billboard charts.

"Tossin and a Turnin" by Bobby Lewis - for me

OK, I can take a hint...

After twice trying to order Pigskin Parade from Amazon, and having the order cancelled or delayed...

I cancelled the order myself and picked it up at my local Borders.

DR Ben - Glad to know that your presentation went well.  And I hope you have a good haircut too.  Since I was down in Chelsea yesterday, I went ahead and headed on over to Chelsea Barber for my usual haircut too.  I ended up getting a new barber, and he gave me a rather nice 'do.

"Muh-Muh-Muh My Sharona
My! My! My! My! My! Whoo!"

I remember that song.

Hmm... I suddenly feel old(er).

;)

It also works with Rice a Roni instead of My Sharona

With a little incentive( not monetary) I'll make a compilation CD of the songs mentioned today for those interested.

What a clever idea, DR Tomovoz!

What is HOT FUZZ?

It's a very smart and very funny satire/parody of action movies - plus a couple of other genres - done by the same guys who did "Shaun of the Dead" - which spoofed horror movies.

*And it's a rather inventive website too.  Just click on the bullet holes. ;)

The #1 song the day I was born was:

"Goodnight Irene" by Gordon Jenkins & the Weavers

At  first glance I thought it was "Nearer My God To Thee" but I was wrong.

I did finally get around to watching National Pastime a couple of days ago and was going to write about it.  I still think the play isn't really a play play - I find it awkwardly written and structured - but TCB is wonderful as Branch Rickey - a really well-nuanced and excellent performance, and much better than the one done here.

Wow!  Thank you, BK.

Good evening. My presentation went very well. One of the attendees asked if I just did the immigration topic so they would see how much I know and refer all their immigration cases to me.  I said "Well..." he laughed and he was planning on it anyway

It's a reality show about young filmmakers co-produced by Steven Spielberg. That's all I know, since I forgot to watch it!

Ahhh...I vaguely remember hearing something about that.

Well, the postman just brought my Amazon.com book order including the scandalous newly published journals of Leo Lerman.  I'm already in shock: did you all know that Yul Brynner's lovers included Hurd Hatfield and Marlene Dietrich?  My mother would plotz.

Somehow that seems appropriate DR MBarnum. Is it because you're a lesbian?  (a JMK and Betsy reference) (DRs FJL and Elmore will know the connection).

I also am aware fo the sapphic tendencies of the Singing Nun.
