DR TCB, in 2004, after I got back from Goodspeed in July, I had all that health problem with the nerves in my leg and the fissure that went on for about a year. I'm sure that DR Ben and Anthony, who lived through a lot of it with me, remember it more, but there was a period when I couldn't stand on my own feet and I was on crutches. On the night it all began, after the emergency crew took me to St Lukes-Roosevelt hospital because of the pain and my inability to walk, the emergency room staff gave me a muscle relaxant: I could have performed ballet afterwards. Enjoy the drugs. I sure did!

Speaking of Happy End, Theatre 1010 here in NY will be mounting a production of the show this spring using the Feingold adaptation. We did that translation at the University of Minnesota in 1977.

Well, I have a set of auditions from 11:00-1:00 today, and then it's back up to Westport for tonight's final preview. The show is coming together nicely, and I'm always amazed at how actors can process and incorporate all the fixes and edits that happen to a show during this time period. Bravo! -Meanwhile, the musicians down in the pit get to have their music in front of them.

Well, I need to take care of a few things around here before heading out, so...

Good morning, fellow Dear Readers. I did not sleep well, so today will be a long day. According to the news the winds are down; I have a lovely view of a wall outside my window so I can't tell.

TOD: I bought a couple of bargain CDs yesterday to listen to on the drive: Best of Eydie, Leroy Anderson hits, and bagpipe music. Don't tell DR Sandra, but I got a CD of Lawrence Welk music for her upcoming birthday. (Her big gift was a trip to Las Vegas last month and a ticket to Blue Men Group.)
