Once the novicane wore off I was in agony, not from the tooth that was crown but  from my top and bottom jaw wher she had apparently jabbed several thousand spikes

Vixdad gave me one of his painpills from his knee and I fell asleep in the recliner

Why does Vixdad keep his pain pills in his knee?

I've been at work all day and now I'm leaving now.  I'll be working concessions for The Presidential Elections and the Future of the Middle East discussion at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts and I need to be there by 5:30 pm.  It should be interesting. :)

Until later!

File this under:

Nobody Gives A Damn, But TCB

Last night, Jane posted a link to a story of Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the Titanic sinking.  This story was in regards to her selling off some items in the hope of staying in the nursing home where she has been living.  Like Jrand, I hope that someone will come forward and pay a great deal more for the items so that she may remain where she is living for whatever time she has left.

Inclued with the story was this picture of Millvina Dean.

In the background is the ship Royal Majesty on which, according to the caption, Ms. Dean sailed out to the wreck site in August 1996.  Since I was on that ship, I was confused because, although Ms Dean was at the dock when we arrived back in Boston, I did not remember her sailing out to the Titanic site with us on the Royal Majesty.

I did some research today, and, although she was at the dock in Boston, as I remembered, she was the only one of the then four suvivors who decided not to go to the site.  She was at the dock for our arrival and the expected reception honoring the arrival of the "great piece" of the ship which broke free and sank back to the bottom of the ocean, the day before.

I am glad, also, TCB, that you remembered everything correctly. I have found that newspapers are frequently incorrect.

We don't get a newspaper anymore, which reminds me to check out our local paper online & see if there is anything worth reading.

There was something work reading, one of the local restaurants had a fire in the kitchen.  :o
The restaurant was closed at the time but fortunately the fire trucks were already out & got there quickly, keeping damage to a minimum.

Is a 1 hour wait the norm in the US for federal elections?

Here there are so many places that having polling stations. And then when you get to your location there are a lot of individual stations depending on your address. I've never waited more than 5 minutes.

BK, i agree with DR jane re: jogging while you're sick. I think your body would heal better without all the strenuous activity.

But i'm actually amazed that you are able to jog at all. I know when i am even a little bit sick i have absolutely no energy to exercise like that.

DR Jane re: your ticket. I'm not sure if it works the same way in the US. but could you send someone to go to the hearing on your behalf. Here, the police rarely show up and so if you contest it the charges are usually dropped.

The library left a message saying they had a book for me. Only they did not say which one (i hate when they do that).

I'm hoping that it's Stephenie Meyer's other book, The Host. Dr Singdaw (or anyone) have you read this?

I am currently on page 400-750 of the last Twilight book (Breaking Dawn). And i am on page 50-270 of the online 5th book Midnight Sun.

The parking ticket was given by a separate department then the police.  I doubt the meter guy has to appear in court.  I'm not exactly sure how the procedure would be in person, I can however contest it in writing.  I don't think it is right that I can't contest it until I have paid for the ticket.  If I win, then I get the money back.  Since I don't trust I'll ever see my money again I'm not paying for it up front.
