Salty has gone home. It is cute to see him play with Sherlock's old stuffed toys that are about as big as Salty. He also likes the tennis ball I got for him.

Finished proofing. Minor stuff until the big reveal chapter. I'm having her redo several paragraphs in that one. And then I'm having her redo about five sequences involving Billy - she didn't really quite get him but I think that's because she didn't read the preceding books. Just a bit more energy and a little fun will do the trick and if we do five sequences, the others will play fine.

Odd question: if you did your top 4 or 5 first, but then used the old "here are 15 all co-existing on the second rung, and I can't choose just 5 or 6) - might that make it easier somehow and give you responsibility only for the top rung?

By the time I realized that I could pick a Chinese, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Indian and Laotian place, I had seven restaurants already to go. A few other categories I thought of were best Asian buffet, best ramen or noodle bar, best fusion, best sushi, best teppanyaki. So, by doing that, it's easy to fill in the blanks. But the guy who asked me to write the piece wanted best Filipino and that I don't really know. So, some homework (not to mention lumpia) is called for.

Just finishing listening to the Britten Violin Concerto. Really energetic, lively, very 20th century piece. Some of it was jagged, some of it was playful, all of it an enjoyable way to end the day.
