Today while on my walk, I found a cell phone on the sidewalk.

What did you do with it?

I must run. I found my disposable camera from a year ago when I was in Atlanta.  The photo shop is having a grand re-opening so I want to get down there and get this developed.

I have some writing to do, so I'm going to tend to that, and then I'll head downstairs for my evening viewing.

We've now done The Brain Tap, the two Plans, Saucers In The Sky, and are now doing the opening number - which is a little different than the NY version.

Topic of the Day:  A few years ago, I saw a one-man "Hamlet" that was very good.  It was less than an hour and a half long, and the guy who performed it, also edited the script.  It was a local production by a guy from Seattle and it got (and deserved) wonderful reviews. :)

That was basically my point - it didn't work in the Ahmanson, as I imagine it didn't work very well in a Broadway house.  But, I have to believe that its initial accolades and buzz came from the fact that it was done in a very small, intimate theater, where, for some, it probably seemed fresh and exciting.

The production of Sweeney Todd that was done at Capital Playhouse (where we have our last performance of Side Show tonight) here in Olympia with Tony Award winner Jarrod Emick, pretty much copied the idea of the Broadway revival.  They didn't have any of the actors playing their instruments, but they effectively set the show in an insane asylum.  It was WONDERFUL...in my humble opinion. :)

I did not get a chance to watch GHOST WHISPERER yet. So i can't comment.

I am eager to know when they will start airing TORCHWOOD here. For sure not before hockey season is over (since they are both on the CBC here).

Eager to hear from those who watched GHOST WHISPERER last night since I didn't have a chance to see it. I'll have to catch a rerun this summer.

It was okay.  Not wonderful but not bad.  I'm still having a hard time getting used to Delia's son being played by a different actor who's aged several years after only a summer break.  AND last night (not a real spoiler) they had him meet this beautiful bleach blonde (total cliché :P) who could be a potential recurring girlfriend.

What did you do with it?

I called the last number dialed and spoke with the owner's girlfriend's father. I asked him to ask the owner to call me and we'll arrange to get it returned. No call so far.

What is this errant and truant behavior?  Do I need to get out the bitch-slap machine?  Do I need to tell everyone to get off their collective ASSES and post?

Maybe one of our eleven GUESTS would like to get off his/her BUTTCHEEKS and post something instead of just sitting there like so much fish.

DR Dakota-Keith's Lassner's arrived in America from Eastern Europe, the Krakow area of Poland.  His great grandmother came from Moldavia, which is now Ostrava in the Czech Republic, & married a Lassner.

I have that, and number 2 on my speed dial is home, 3 is Keith.  I would have begun with number 1 but my phone came with that programed to voice mail.

I am seeing this new Sweeney Todd in a couple of weeks when it comes to Phoenix. I don't think I will like this gimmick of actors playing the instruments.

Good Evening!

Ah, it's amazing the things you learn and the things you hear when you spend a Saturday afternoon in a casting director's office.  It's also great when you get to hear some new rumors, and it's even better when some older rumors are denied or confirmed.  ;)

As for the Topic of the Day...

Well, I actually liked the John Doyle Sweeney Todd and Company for that matter.  Do I want to see that approached adapted for every single show?  No.  But I have to give him and his team of actor/musicians for committing to the concept - and for memorizing all those notes!

As for things that have not worked, well, the two that come to mind are productions of Shakespeare's Macbeth and King Lear.  In both cases, some gender-switching was involved.  In Macbeth, Banquo was played by a woman which really played with the whole dynamic right at the top of the play.  -And it was never made clear whether if Banquo was supposed to be a woman, or "simply" a woman playing a man.  The King Lear was basically Queen Lear.  The performances were fine, but, again, having a very Male part portrayed by a woman just did not really serve the play all that well.

You have nothing to worry about DR DearReaderLaura.  All the talk about you revolved around your continually gorgeous pictures and your newly-revealed potty-mouth.  High praise all around!

DR MichaelS - As for Safari on a PC, well... First of all, I didn't know Mac made a PC version.  -I guess that's some sort of reaction to Microsoft no longer supporting IE for Mac.

I like Safari, and it's the browser I use on my Mac.  Both Safari and Firefox use a lot of same conventions and shortcuts - in fact, it always seems like one is borrowing "new" ideas from the other.  Just use it for a while and see how it feels to you.

A browser is just a browser to me.  I don't do any programming or website layout, so I've never been concerned with some of the more advanced features of the various browsers out there.  As long as I know where to type in the URL, I'm happy.

Well... Now that you mention it...

Stay tuned.  ;)

Finished all the choreography planned for today - lots of little changes in the opening number, but it looks swell.  The cast has a lot of homework to do, and tomorrow is equally heavy.
