I think DR ELMORE had a close personal encounter with Ms. Bacall.

Nope! I don't recall ever being in her company, but after all the stories I've heard, I have no wish to be.

DR Ron Pulliam - I am sooo with you regarding Peter Noone's and Lulu's performances last night on "AI".  Mr. Noone should have just done one chorus and called it a night.  And Lulu should have just sung the song the way she did back then, instead of trying to make it all hip and "today".  *And just how much "work" have both of them had done?  ;)

Have never been hypnotized.

And of course there is no better hypnotic movie then the HYPNOTIC EYE (1960). (thanks for the youtube clip Jrand56!).

DR DakotaCelt - sorry to read of the incident in your library.  I hope the gentleman gets the attention he needs, the perpetrators get what they deserve, and your administration recognizes the trauma that sort of thing causes to staff.

I chatted with several of the students last night and with two of them after their shifts were done. They were quite disturbed by it.

Wonder of wonders, at my library, some actions are being taken based on the recommendations we made to our higher-ups earlier in the week.

Good!

Vibes for your grantseeking session!

DR FJL - I'm sorry you had a less than ideal evening at The Met.  At least you were around long enough for "the greatest hits" of the opera: Figaro's "Largo al factotum", The Count's "Ecco Ridente", and Rosina's "Una voce poco fa".

My math teacher was truly hypnotic, So I was forced to digest half a can of soda to snap me out of it. ( the most caffine I will probably drink all year)

That's terrible to do all the bathrooms in the terminal at the same time!

The MARTA Chairman does them one stall at a time.

There shoud be a law about math class at 8 in the morning...

During my freshman year in college, CM - Comprehensive Musicianship - met Monday-Thursday from 8:00am-10:00am.  It was the core class for the music majors - theory, ear training and music history all rolled into one SIX credit class.

Thankfully, the teacher I had would let students "skip" from time to time as long as they were keeping up with the course work.  -And show up for the tests at the end of each week.  *And since I had taken some college level music classes during high school, I skipped many a week(!) at a time - the syllabus was always followed to a "T" so I was able to see what I already knew, and what I would need to learn.  -And I had a 4.1 GPA my freshman year.

He also hated having people fall asleep in his class, so he would "encourage" the sleepyheads to get up and walk around the halls for a while to wake themselves up.  He was a very cool teacher.  In any case...

Having to wake up at 8:00am Monday thru Thursday... And then most likely on Friday since that was the only available slot for keyboard skills...  :-\

*But sophomore year, CM took place 10:00am-Noon, Monday-Thursday. :)

I have a similar class ( only 3 credits though for those of us who are not devoted to music, just curious) in the same timeslot-ish 8-11 fridays. If we begin to fall asleep the techer will simply begin delivering his lecture into your ear, or turn on a loud piece of music.

Isn't it terrible?  I, too, bought that album, years ago - but have never listened to it.

Well, if anybody wants a new, unopened, widescreen copy of the DVD let me know - we have two.

After I watched the Hypnotic Eye clip, another clip came up for suggested viewing:

A little CANNIBAL, in honor of DR George!

Thanks!  And I saw (and watched) that, too.  It brings back so many memories...

Yikers-Strikers!  And not very well I would say.  Look at all my hypnotic-induced typos created during that hypnotic-induced posting frenzy.  I have a lot of editing to catch up on..or should I just leave them all so der Brucer can find them ... a game for der Brucer that would be like Find Waldo -- Find Miss Karen's Typos -- amongst all the postings..that ought to keep him busy and out of trouble...

Indeed, I probably have  few also

My bank has finally eradicated all the bogus bank card charges and restored my account to its former glory!

I shall, again, have a pleasant night's sleep!

That is great news!

I'm NOT a morning person...and it's getting worse.  I'm lucky if I get to work at 10:30 am. ::) Fortunately, my supervisor is a nice guy and as long as I get my work in (or use vacation time), he's okay with flexible schedules. :)
