DR Jrand - As for your new Mac and the internet...  Are you using dial-up or ethernet (DSL or cable)?  If you're using dial-up, you "simply" have to "officially"recognize the modem via the Internet Connect settings.

However, if you're using an ethernet connection... If you've just been plugging the ethernet cable from one computer to another, then you will have an issue since most service providers only allow you to connect to one computer (via a unique IP address) at a time - unless you have a router to split the signal.  However, there is a work around for this...

Just plug the ethernet cable into the new computer.  Then turn off the computer.  Then unplug the ethernet cable from the wall for a few seconds, the reconnect it.  Then turn off your cable modem for a few seconds - the easiest way to do this is just to disconnect the A/C adapter cord - then turn it back on.  Then turn on the computer.  This should essentially reset your connection, and your ethernet connection should automatically be recognized by your new computer.  Just open Safari to check to see if it is connected.

If this doesn't work, just give Apple a call.  Some very helpful folks at AppleCare.

Ah.  Well, since most DMVs are online now... Can he secure one that way?

I have been saying the same thing to him for a year now.  My son the procrastinator (just like his mother :-[).  It really didn't matter before since he had no intention of ever driving in Romania again, once was more than enough!

I think I will go on-line & see if I can verify the rules for an international license.

TOD:
Well, I was raised on See's candy. It was present at every family gathering, so it's in my blood. I can no longer eat most chep chocolate--makes me feel a bit sick--but I do love the expensive stuff. Not Godiva, though. Trader Joe's sells excellent Belgian chocolate, which I learned today that they are now having trouble getting from their distributor. No wonder I had a difficult day.

My preference is for milk chocolate. I do like white chocolate on occasion. I LOVE German Chocolate Cake ice cream. (Swenson's used to make it, don't know if they still do.)

And then there was that little pensione in Italy that sold the hot chocolate which was like liquid fudge (which I've mentioned here before.) One day I shall have to try Starbuck's hot chocolate.

Oh, and yes, I eat more chocolate than I should.  I get addicted to it easily. If I get off it for a few weeks I don't miss it. But once I start eating it again, well, I'm hooked.

Craig is correct he needs his license to get an international one, they work in tandem.

I keep pestering him with license questions.  I just sent one asking if he could get a Romanian license in time.

I have no problem going to New York. ;)  Just the long drive & leaving Keith again to deal with Sherlock alone, it is depressing enough with both of us here.

Jose, can these folks see each other's auditions?

Hopefully, other folks will learn NOT to bring in obscure songs with homemade transpositions.

Thanks for linking that, Ben. And thanks for the kind words, Elmore. Those guys were all cool to talk to and were all such different characters, it was pretty interesting to put together.

Yes, congratulations, Tom.  Another great interview.  I loved everything about the Broadway production of BARNUM (except possibly Glenn Close's singing); and Mr. Crofoot's number was indeed a knockout.

DR TCB, giving Ms Woodward a run for her money, you changed faces three times last night!  I meant to comment earlier but I forgot.

I've done my report, the laundry is in the dryer, and I have a lot of clutter to rearrange.

Well, I wanted to wish a very good afternoon to all of the assembled and sun-dried lovelies, studlies, vixens, waifs, and lumberjacks here at the old Living Room .  I've been really swamped with trying to stay caught up on both paperwork, and also ongoing projects.

I made a real push this past weekend and finally just about finished the new "theatre wall" that I've been creating at my house.

Here is a picture that was taken about 2 weeks ago, after all of the structural and support work had been finished, and the wall had gotten painted in its new color of "deep cherrywood."

Long day.  Glad to be home.

Sad that TV sucks tonight.

Glad I've got some alternatives.

Thanks to today’s topic I about finished our See’s mini, foil wrapped Easter eggs, a mix of dark & milk chocolates.

When we lived in Michigan there was a local gourmet food & wine shop that began selling a small selection of See’s candy.  One day I stopped in and the manager was thrilled I had done so.  He ran & got the See’s Easter catalogue for me so I could advise him on his order.  I was so honored.

You may call me, Eve.

Eve. Eve the Golden Girl, the Cover Girl, the Girl Next Door, the Girl on the Moon. Time has been good to Eve. Life goes where she goes. She's been profiled, covered, revealed, reported. What she eats and what she wears and whom she knows and where she was, and when and where she's going. Eve. You all know All About Eve. What can there be to know that you don't know?

Eve would ask Abbott to give her Costello

The minor awards, as you can see, have already been presented. Minor awards are for such as the writer and director [playwright Lloyd Richards and director Bill Sampson are briefly viewed] since their function is merely to construct a tower so that the world can applaud a light which flashes on top of it. And no brighter light has ever dazzled the eye than Eve Harrington. Eve. But more of Eve later, all about Eve, in fact.

I compared the Black Bottom Cupcake recipes & found only a few slight differences.  Any suggestions on which I should use?

1 tbsp. vinegar or 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1/4 tsp. cocoa or 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

I would assume that regular vs. cider vinegar is just personal taste...and probably won't make much (if any) difference in this kind of recipe.  Otherwise, I'm sure that the cocoa should be 1/4 cup. :)

I got a price for a pet transportation to collect Craig & his dog at JFK nd drive them to Pittsburgh.  It is less expensive for me to fly out there & rent a car.  Of course a hotel for 2 nights in NY could change that.

So DR Cillaliz, who are you rooting for on DANCING WITH THE STARS?

I really like Apolo and Julianne. And my least favorites are clyde and john.

I think joey is also very good. As is laila.

And i am very impressed with heather and billy ray. I think billy ray in many ways has it quite hard because he seems like he does not have the natural talent of some of the others. But i love karina and i hope she can keep it up with him. I thought he did well tonight.

Well, the upcoming tour - which is currently auditioning here in NYC - will be going EVERYWHERE!  So, I'm sure you'll have a chance to see it sooner or later.
