Next, I listened to the commentary from director Mathieu  Kassoviitz on the DVD of La HAIME. Speaks English well (he lived here for three years and then goes back and forth between here and France). He feels very strongly about the situation between these project dwellers and the police, speaks with some bitterness about the continuing problems those people face.

I got about halfway through the film for the second time before I switched to something else.

Ann Coulter is ranting about Imus' "excessive apologizing" on Fox News - you could watch 8)

Many thanks to all for the recommendations.

I'm probably gonna just manintain my routine of walking outside of the lunch hour (which is what I've been doing, thus far).  She keeps saying "We'll walk during lunch."

But NO....I'll be eating lunch "at lunch."

It's obviously a process with which she is totally unfamiliar as a practitioner.

And Ann Coulter "ranting" is redundant.  Shame on you, Der B!

;)

(And Fox News is my only BLOCKED channel....I don't even want dust mites to accidentally punch it in).

Next, I put in disc two in the La HAINE set and watching the documentary on the making of the film. It's ALMOST as long as the film itself. The movie is 97 minutes and the documentary is 83.

Interesting that like YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, the film was shot on color stock but printed in black and white. There was a sequence from the film shown in color during the documentary, and the color gave the film an entirely different feel and made it much less interesting.

After that documentary was finished, I started the next featurette, three socialogists talking about ghettos and housing projects in France and in other countries. Have just gotten about eight minutes into this. Will finish it when I go back down.

They are installing the bathtub now. There is much noise. I am glad I don't have to help, because it is cast iron, and you can tell that they are trying to figure out how to get in in there.

I was really hoping that Zha Zha's DH was the father, because I think it would have been kinda funny.

Off to write a little bit, then clean the living room, and get back to the TV for tonight's line-up.

Ron P - I think whether or not the person deserves to have their feelings hurt (and they are imposing on you in a way that makes it not unreasonable for you to hurt their feelings without guilt), consider though the impact on your own well-being and serenity if this person's feelings are hurt by you.  If there are no negative repercussions for you, then what is paramount for you is that these private walks are important for you.

I actively seek out people who'll impose upon my well-being and serenity JUST so I can hurt their feelings.

I've made the third change - it required about three new sentences, which I'll read to muse Margaret on the phone this evening.
