So, Cilla, was the toddler thing referring to your three cats?

Yes.

It's really strange to do a hearing when I'm in the courtroom with my client and our witnesses and everyone else is on a tv screen from Chicago.

Tomorrow I have to write a brief and get it filed.  It's on a completely different issue in a different court than I have been thinking about all week.  The nice thing is, I've blocked off the whole day to do it.  So, I can get some sleep, then get up, put on my comfortable clothes and focus on one thing until it's done.  I like that

Ok, I need to go to bed.  I may try to read a little.  The Lacuna is a good sedative

DR Jane and Ginny.  I'm still reading The Lacuna.  I'm not sure why.  I think the biggest problem is I really could care a less about the main character.  I don't dislike it enough to quit reading it, but it's close

It's still on my bedside table, bookmarked at the halfway point.  I feel the same way, DR Cillaliz.

TOD:

Since I've worked in so many different areas, that's a very difficult question.  So, I'll break it down by area:

Public Relations:

1976 "Best Song" Oscar campaign for Paul Francis Webster/Sammy Fain

Theatre:

JOLSON

Film:

CHEYENNE WARRIOR

Book (Fiction):

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD

Book (Non-Fiction):

MY FORTY-FIVE YEARS IN HOLLYWOOD AND HOW I ESCAPED ALIVE
(Writing this was very cathartic)

Was this "The World That Never Was" from Half A House? and the 800 number? It is one of the few Academy Award nominated songs I do not have a recording of. the others are from the 40's

I am more than happy to say that I have just had the Muse Margaret call and I'll just say she loved the last eighty pages.  She was very specific, she didn't guess the guilty party, she was totally satisfied with who it was and all the attendant explanations - and my two favorite things in this eighty pages were also hers and involve subtle emotional moments.  She had three teeny-tiny word things that I changed and I am done with this book and I am happy, happy, happy (that is three happys) and am walking on both air and clouds nine and ten.

I, myself, feel very safe tonight in Phoenix, Arizona, knowing that Steven Seagal is on patrol fighting crime in Maricopa County.

Could you ask him for his autograph for me?

Speaking of music, my composer friend Peter Foley recommended this fantastic history of twentieth century music, which is highly entertaining:

I love Alex Ross' "The Rest Is Noise" - as well as his writings for "The New Yorker", many of which have been expanded and included in his newest book, "Listen To This".
