...And, thankfully, nothing happened to the apartment, but since access to the backyard is through our apartment, it's been a bit like a Grand Central - on a slow day - in here over the past couple of hours.

Is your apartment normally the only way to the backyard or just while there is a tree across the power lines?

There's also access from the landlord's building next door. However, since the landlord no longer lives there...

The landlord should be there to take care of this.  You should charge for your time ;)

DR Laura has her Joshie and I have mine, my adopted son, who will be the star orchestrator of the next generation. He's mighty talented.

He's looking for a new apartment and he has till March 1. This is our next project.

Well... The landlord's handyman did come by... As did two workers from ConEd and two reps from the NYC Department of Utilities.  And since the tree from whence the branch fell is actually on the property behind our building, the chainsaws did not have to come through our apartment.

I just finished watching YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER.

I assume it was meant to be a comedy, but neither my wife or I laughed very much.

No chainsaws in your apartment, now that is a blessing. :)

So "Baby It's You" is taking the Broadhurst and "Born Yesterday" is taking the Cort Theater, so every Broadway theater which had a closing in January is now filled with another show, booked up until April.  So when it comes to millions upon millions to invest in new shows to replace shows that lost millions, it begs the question - where is all this investment money coming from?

SOYLENT GREEN arrived today for Craig to watch.  I had intentionally neglected to mention a couple of details regarding the movie, which he read today..... " this sci-fi thriller stars Charlton Heston".  He is not much of a sci-fi guy and he dislikes Charlton Heston, not that I can blame him about Heston as I too am not a fan.

I hope DR KevinH is safe and sound - I've been reading reports of downed trees and wires and power outages in and around the DC area.

For those DRs who do not watch "American Idol", the last five minutes of tonight's episode are worth watching.

It's actually one of their tear-jerker segments. And, for once, I think the producers finally figured out how not to make it seem exploitative.

Good grief!  I've been on the phone for about 1 1/2 hours.  It's been a long time since I've done that.
