Jennifer, I doubt seriously that President Bush gave a rat's ass about people who were recording programs last night.

Nor, quite frankly, should he.

"The federal government has arranged for Washington Mutual to sell its deposits and some branches to JPMorgan Chase, people briefed on the matter said Thursday night.

The deal does not include any branches in New York City."

That's all I know.  I have more reading to do.

I think it's only me and DR cillaliz who are watching this year.  I was definitely okay with who went home (it was who i thought would go). In the first weeks especially it has a lot to do with who your partner is and how well known you are (if you have a fan base). Ted simply had a new partner who nobody knew (and who didn't seem to catch on quickly like julianne or her brother). And i just didn't know if he'd have a large fanbase.

I was definitely happy for rocco (right now i think he is one of my favs). Btw, are mario lopez and karina dating cause i happened to catch an episode of sunset tan and they were both on and they introduced her as his girlfriend!

Our very own DR Elmore is mentioned in paragraph #4 of

This article from today's hometown newspaper

Congrats, Larry!

Nor, quite frankly, should he.

Exactly.  He has much more important things that he hasn't cared a rat's ass about under his belt...the economy, for instance; the national debt; foreign relations; fairness and impartiality; energy; oil prices...just to name a few.

Do you suppose that it's a coincidence that McCain is to Bush's far right and Obama is to his far left  ;D
I think Bush was smart to put two people between himself and each of the candidates, just as a deterrant.

Ugly Betty is about to air, and I've got a pot roast ready to come out of the oven.

Hasta.

It's about time to wrap up another workday.

Happy TV-watching tonight, everyone who will be watching something or the other.  I'll be recording several shows and watching some while others record.  I'll leave the DVR "on" while I switch to antenna.

And I suspect the average viewer understood even less.

T.O.D.

Sorry to be such a heathen, but I love to gamble.  I play the Lotto, the Mega Millions, the Match 4, and the Hit 5.  I also buy scratch tickets from time to time.  I have won $500.00 a few times on scratch tickets, but on the lottery games mostly just $3.00 here, and $10.00 there.

I enjoy playing the slot machines, and my friends and I usually go about once a month.  Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose.  My good friend is very lucky.  She wins lots of jackpots on slot machines.  When I win it is usually only $100 to 200.

I don't play Blackjack, or Craps or any of the other table games.  The one time I played roulette it was only becasue Hugh O'Brien was playing at a table in Vegas, so I played too.

Now that you mention it, I have contributed to office pools once in a while and bought scratch tickets for stocking stuffers or table favors for holiday dinners.  We've never had any big winners, though.

I don't have enought money to play games of chance.

Neither do I.  I have always lost money on such games.  My parents have a friend, Mona, who goes to the local casino and regularly wins.  Well, a couple of times a year, at least:  $200, $800, $500.  Me...bupkis.

I just want to wish a Happy Birthday to my son, David, who is 39 today.

Now, for this year, he has something in common with Jack Benny.

A Very Happy Birthday to DR Druxy's DS David!

Our ABC affiliate is having all sorts of technical problems, but only during Ugly Betty. The commercials seem to have no problem.  ARG<>

My friend (the lucky one) went down to the casino with my sister one day on thier lunch hour.  They were sitting next to each other, when my friend hit a Jackpot for $1,600.00.  While she was waiting for the casino to do all the needed paperwork, my friend stuck her ticket in a nearby machine, and she promptly hit a second Jackpot for $1,500.00.  $3,100.00 in an hour!  Nice lunch.

Has anybody read about this new cruise ship that is coming to Royal Caribbean next year.  It is called the Oasis of the Seas, and it is probably the most unique new ship I have ever seen.  For example, this drawing below is in the center of the ship (where you would normally find the inside cabins) and it called Central Park, complete with trees and shrubs and flowers.  You might never know that you left port!
