TOD:  Games of chance?  Well, I've been known to buy a PowerBall ticket occasionally when the prize gets over 200 million or so.  But I don't really need to, because I know that soon I shall be winning the Publisher's Clearing House Giveaway.

Oh, and someone once tried to teach me the rules of Craps.  It wasn't a particular success.

Getting advice about retirement from a trained financial councilor is PROSPICIENT.

Rejecting half of it and instead taking advice from your brother-in-law is more PRO/AMSPICIENT.

When I was a kid, I liked Chutes and Ladders, which is sorta-kinda of a game of chance.  I mean, after all, whether you win or lose all depends on the roll of a die.

It doesn't appeal to me quite as much now.

As for games involving my losing money just because of playing (and losing) some fool game... NO WAY!  It's my money, I'm spending it the way I want to, and don't think I'm just going to hand it all over to you in order to play some stupid game, you with the greedy leer I don't trust one whit!

Good morning, all! I'm doing some proofing this morning and around 11:30 I will walk down to my appointment with my nutritionist. After that, NYPL at Lincoln Center for some research on scene designers.

Tonight, DR Jose and I are attending a dress rehearsal of DON GIOVANNI at the Met. I'm very much looking forward to it.

TOD:  I don't gamble, except for lotteries. When I was about 12 or 13, I won a Halloween lottery; the prize was a season pass to the Paramount Theatre, a glorious movie palace long torn down in my hometown. I believe it was the Paramount and the public library where most of my childhod was spent.

I am getting ready to watch LET'S DO IT AGAIN, a Technicolor remake of THE AWFUL TRUTH with Mr Ray Milland and Miss Jane Wyman taking the roles of Mr Cary Grant and Miss Irene Dunne.

I have never seen it all the way through, but I remember it being a nicely designed movie, although the stars don't have a chance against the originals.

Oh and Aldo Ray takes the Ralph Bellamy role....he looks very nice in a tuxedo.

There is a BIG sign on the lawn since today is the actual anniversary of the wedding of my parents 60 years ago....I will take a picture, but I do not know if I can upload it to my computer, being in SAFE MODE and all.

Still no email from the computer man.

And the first week of the lottery in Indiana almost 20 years ago, I won $56!

I don't see what everyone is so worried about - Hillary Clinton is in the Senate and she knows everything and has all the answers....she was up at 3 a.m. this morning working on it, so everyone else can just RELAX.

DR JRand58 -  Forgot to mention:  last week's issue of Entertainment Weekly had a full-page photo of Debra Messing as Channing as Dolly.

TOD: The first time we went to Las Vegas, DR Megan picked out a slot machine for me to try. I put in a quarter and got five quarters back. Then we were chased out of the casino because DRs Megan and Sandra were underage.

That was the only time I ever won anything. The few quarters I plunked into machines after that disappeared and I saw just where that was going. I probably put less than five dollars into slot machines in my whole life.

I just go for the carpets.

Good mornin', y'all!

TOD:  I'm not big on gambling.  I'll sometimes play penny ante poker with friends.  Years back I would do Atlantic City a couple of times a year, but then they did away with stocking the slot machines with actual coins and it became all paper and just wasn't fun for me to play anymore.  I did like playing roulette and that's where I made my biggest killing, winning 800 some odd dollars at one sitting.
