Tonight's episode of Victoria was quite sad: Drummond died in a assassination attempt on Sir Robert Peel, the Baroness who raised Victoria was sent back to Germany, Sir Robert resigned as prime minister, Prince Albert's brother's syphilis broke up his engagement plans, and Diana Rigg had a wonderful scene with Lord Alfred Paget to inform him of Drummond's death and to tell him to remember his place in the mourners, somewhere after his parents and fiancée.
I have no idea if Drummond and Lord Alfred were in reality a gay couple or if its the screenwriter's conjecture, but it was nicely handled in the past episodes.
Next week is the season closer, England adopts the German Christmas tree, 1846.
