Mikey, yesterday afternoon they did a segment on water polo and its coverage over the years,  Apparently back in the 50s, the Soviet team took on a team from one of the countries they had recently invaded.  it was apparently one of the bloodiest and most violent matches ever covered in the Olympics.

They did say that those skimpy little bathing suits are often either used for a wedgie, or are completely torn off by the opposing team.  Hmmm!

Apparently mishaps also happen in the women's water polo:

Finally coming up for air - I did a two-mile jog, have written three blurbs, had a long telephonic conversation, and picked up a couple of packages.

Mike, we're looking at a lot of things.  No, Mrs. Brolin does not own the album, but there are some contractual clauses that must be looked at carefully - I don't think it will be insurmountable, but the real question is how much can we help a three-track recording.  The answer to that question, if positive, will open up a lot of interesting doors.

I'm beginning to feel less tired.  I'm sure I'll be wide awake by bedtime.

Evening all!  Vibes to DR Ben and that he feels better soon!

Sheena has a fracture in her "wrist".  Not broken, thank goodness.  She is in a splint has to stay that way for the next 2 weeks.  The bad part is she can't seem to get out the doggie door so I've had to open and close the door for her.  I have to go to work so I don't know what she will do tomorrow.

She is asleep at my feet right now.  I guess the pain meds the vet gave me for her knocked her out.  She had a rough day with having to be sedated and all.  She will be sedated again in two weeks when they have to do another X-ray.

Toby was fine at home by himself.  I didn't lock him in the house.  I'm glad he was a good boy for me.

I swear that I didn't edit this. I found this on the Cannes Film Festival Website. This is the last line of the synopsis of the film GIU LA TESTA (ONCE UPON A TIME...THE REVELOUTION. (Aka Duck You Sucker aka A Fistful of Dynamite.)

"Miranda and Mallory have become great friends, but right when Juan needs John the most, the latter is shot in the back and he blows himself."

I wonder if this was a bad translation from the original French. :-)

Most intriguing.  Obviously, the rest of us saw an edited version of this from the one that ran in Cannes!  I guess they thought the world wasn't ready!

Back from a fun afternoon and evening.  I went to the rubber stamping store for some supplies for the classes I'm taking tomorrow and my program book for Stampaway XX, which I'm attending on Saturday.  From there I went to Barnes & Noble and then across to Mitchell's Fish Market for dinner with Richard's brother and his wife.  Delicious salmon with fabulous veggies on the side.

Big news in our family is that our nephew Christopher was promoted to major in the Air Force today.  He's on the right - notice the name on the door of the helicopter:

I have been enjoying the Olympics. So far I think Canada has 6 medals: 1 silver and 5 bronze.  Hopefully we can get a gold soon.

For the women's gymnastics Canada has never been in the team finals. And the team placed 5th! They were so happy. Sometimes not even winning a medal can still be great!

I feel it my duty to report that I have finally listened to the new FOLLIES cd (which arrived Saturday but to which I could not listen as I was busy bailing the basement)

I have never heard the original before so I have no comparison  BUT I love the cd and have now listened to it several times in my motor vehicle
