Good Morning Edi and Fred.
Edi - She charged you for her labor to fix HER error?
Sounds outrageous. Maybe her office billing person just charged the time on through without her knowing about it?
Did you "protest" that it was her error? Or did you just not want to make waves?
Hugs to Elmore!! Wish we were there to help you! I admit, I laughed at the "roof" quip.
You know, I'm sure that the loft has a beautiful view from the roof, 5 floors up.
5 floors...just enough...
DR Jose, what kind of espresso maker do you use, and do you like it? we're in the market for one. When we lived in Marietta, we could get a 3 shot espresso latte for $2 at our local roasters because we were regulars and help them out when we're there and they need something.
Now that we've moved to Atlanta and Starbucks is our only nearby option, well, we could buy an espresso maker for less than we've already spent. I wish I had invested in Starbucks 10 years ago. It's amazing how something that didn't exist not too long ago has now become a necessity for so many people.
Kind of like the internet!
Edi: they rerun DEXTER here on one of the "free" HD channels, like HDNET or something (can't recall).
LOL re: The Oscar--perhaps the first time I've seen it on anyone's favorite list for anything. Aside from mine, of course--it has a luscious Percy Faith score, including the incredible "Maybe September."
Thanks, JMK! I'll have to chance and see if we have it!
THE OSCAR is one of those so bad it's good movies for me. I especially love the moment when Stephen Boyd thinks his name is going to be announced and stands up prematurely, and then awkwardly turns it into a standing ovation, stiffly clapping for the real winner. It makes me laugh every time!
my hirsute status
Shall we call you BABA THE TURK from now on? ;)
I am up in my room eating my leftover meatloaf from last night...darn tasty!
I hope you have a refridgerator in your room!
I finished watching PRIDE & PREJUDICE on HD-DVD as I cooked and ate lunch. Had the same effect on me that it usually does: tear-induced joy and pleasure.
This morning I went for a walk. It was very wet and drippy from yesterday's rain. This is what I saw:

I believe it is called heavenly bamboo.
Hmm. It was a nice compact shrub.
I just downloaded an episode of LOU GRANT from itunes.
Now what do I do with it? I mean, how does one watch it? I expected some sort of player to pop up when I clicked on the show, but nada...
Help?
DR Edi - do you have to have a video iPod? I know our DS Rob watches episodes that way, either on the iPod itself or by hooking it up to his TV. I'll ask him tomorrow if you have to have the iPod or if you can watch them on your computer.
However, the classic, tried-and-true Italian stove top makers are very easy to use, and make a great demitasse of espresso.

DR edisaurus - Yes, you should be able to watch your downloaded program in iTunes on your computer. Just double-click on the show, and the player window should show up. *Are you at least seeing it in the small preview window?
As for the Topic of the Day...
Peter Falk - "Columbo", "The Princess Bride"
George Kennedy - "The Naked Gun" series, and all those episodes of "The Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island"
Ernest Borgnine - "The Poseidon Adventure" and "SpongeBob SquarePants" ;)
I forgot my TV Reminder this morning:
TORCHWOOD!!!
...
*Illy has been advertising their new top-of-the-line machine lately. And from all accounts, it seems to be worth it's $799.99 price tag. ;)
I want the names of the errant and truant.
The people in the room next door to mine are like Hillbillys and they are quite a loud talking bunch (thin walls and connecting door, unfortunately)
I mean if ninety-two year old Ernest Borgnine can show up at nine-thirty and leave at five, why can't Miss Phillips.
I meant to post later this afternoon that I did read about BURN NOTICE. It will start filming its second season of episodes in April and will be back on the air with new episodes in July.
I'm afraid I am not a fan of Ernest Borgnine at all. He's fine in supporting roles in FROM HERE TO ETERNITY or JOHNNY GUITAR, but once he became a star, I found him unappealing.

Jose, can you tell me where to send my contribution, entitled CLUTTER ON THE FLOOR?
And I think this is my favorite self-timer self-portrait from today's "shoot":
DR Elmore had a piece of art called "Stacks of Boxes." Unfortunately, not every understood it.
...Although, I guess you could also send some of your works of "art" to:
NYC Department of Sanitation
Central Correspondence Unit
346 Broadway, 10th Floor
New York, NY 10013
;D
No, Jane, I haven't seen any episodes of DEXTER, but it sounds like an interesting show!
Wow! You could buy a lotta Starbucks for that!
For those DRs who may need the info:
The Museum of Modern Art
(212) 708-9400
11 West 53 Street,
between Fifth and Sixth avenues
New York, NY 10019-5497
;)
