Is there a comfortable way to think about one's mortality?   ;D

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Forget this and attaining Enlightenment

will be the least of your problems.

I wouldn't feel secure on top on those.

Zen is not easy.

It takes effort to attain nothingness.

And then what do you have?

DR JRand - I like that Zen hot dog joke too.  :)

*And in the spirit of full disclosure, I was copying and pasting most of those jokes from: http://www.rinkworks.com/jokes/

Who knew?

The jokes that I was posting last night were also taken from the Internet...but I don't remember specifically where.  I just picked them up (probably from here ;)) and saved them on a "Jokes" Word document.

DR DAKOTA CELT your mailbox is full.

The article I am looking for is from March 18, 1959, give or take a day depending on wire services and is headlined HUSBAND SUES FRANCES FARMER.

Would like the text of the article.  Thanks.

This will answer DR JOSE's post as well.  La mem chose.

Here's a great story:  When we left for church Sunday, Richard had a huge garment bag containing his clerical garb, a briefcase, and an audiobook from my library (checked out on my card).  We stopped for breakfast and when we were on the highway he suggested we start listening to the book.  It was nowhere to be found in the car, so he suspected that he'd set in on top of the car in the garage and forgotten about it.  We fully expected to find it in the garage or driveway, but did not.  He retraced our route to the breakfast place and didn't find it.  He said, "I guess I'll have to pay Dayton Metro Library for an audiobook."

I had reason a few minutes ago to look at my record and noticed that that particular title was no longer on my "Items Out" list.  Further investigation revealed that it had been checked in at one of our branches at 11:20 this morning.  I called the manager there and he said a woman had called him this morning about a book on CD that she'd found in Middletown.  He told her just to mail it, but she must have driven to Dayton to return in in person.  She didn't leave her name, so I guess I'll just have to "pay it forward" someday.

Great story!  Somehow I suspect this is already a "pay forward" to you.

I wish I received some sort of revenue from the ads at the top, but I do not.  I'm not quite sure I understand the why of it, but it has something to do with the software used to create this board - part of the deal was the ads - I don't know if Bakalor got it free or what, but they've been there from the beginning.

I figured you got something for those ads, too bad you don't.

Toujours les memes choses!

;D

Of course, l'amour is more fun.

L'amour! L'amour! Toujours l'amour!

Just ask Jose.  He's very conversant in it.

The Christmas edition was called "The Ghost of Christmas Past" and in it, the story moves back to 1969 with the cast all playing different characters. The widescreen shrinks to the old 4:3 ratio, and it had the potential to be something really unique. Sadly, some of the actors were overparted. Karri Turner did a lousy impression of Phyllis Diller, and Catherine Bell was impersonating a "famous" singer called Jenny Lake, though her singing voice was barely adequate. David James Elliott was playing his father, so other than wearing a mustache, he had the least to do in terms of turning in a different characterization from the fellow he normally plays.

An unusual episode, and it did show us how Harm's father got shot down and when, but otherwise, it was a gimmick show lacking in the drama that is a hallmark of the series.

There will be more of those "back in time" shows.  I think you will enjoy the others more than this one.

Since Keith didn't watch the show I usually watched it while using the treadmill.   The treadmill broke about the same time the show went off the air.

"Frances Farmer sued, 1959" turned up three newspaper stories from January 1959....two from the Oakland Tribune and one from the Hartford Courier (?).  The latter is pay per view.  You must be a subscriber for the Oakland Tribune.

Merci mon ami.

Oui, DR RLP - that's why I was looking for someone who had microfiche access or a subscription to newspaperarchive.com - the date I had was March, 1959....but the January date could have been the filing information.  Interesting.

I'm hoping for ladles later this week.

I read this as "ladies" and thought, "Hmmmm"...

I am a big Cake fan, in all possible interpretations of that statement.

I read this a "Coke". I have been editing since 6AM. I think I need to rest my eyes.

But the good news is, I finished editing the Safe Kids piece and my dear friend down the hall on-lined it for me, so it looks so much better, better resolution, titles, everything, than what I had done on my laptop. I'm so grateful to him, and the friend I was doing this for will do something nice for him, I hope!

The place I'm working has gone from 1 southern comfort food chef to 2, adding the amazing chef, back to just one, and now, none. I didn't even get lunch today, so I'm going to go find some dinner!

George-Thank you for signing the petition.

Glad to. :D

Now, please consider signing THIS to show support for the Seattle Storm women's basketball team.  They've been optioned for purchase by a group of local business women so that the team (separate from the SuperSonics) can stay in Seattle!  My niece is the die-hard fan and I've sort of become a supporter of theirs, too. :)
