Well, you've read the notes, the notes were notes and the notes were notes, and now it is time for you to post until the notable cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: STARGAZER!
-
Good morning, all!
-
This morning I have the lab work for next week's doctor's appointment. I can only drink water until it's over, and my body wants coffee.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m a sucker for any bread with a spectacular crust. Save me the end piece.

I’m a sucker for any bread with a spectacular crust. Save me the end piece.
I'll have some of that.
Oh. While you're getting that, could you put a fried egg on it, along with some bacon and cheese (two kinds would be nice), maybe a slice of ham, and season it nicely? Thanks.
-
I am pleased to hear that they figured out the CREATURE disc issue!
I was also pleased this morning to find that three (3) (count 'em) days after I submitted my li'l review of same, Amazon has finally seen fit to publish the frickin' thing. Progress, baby.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! Today is pie-baking day - pumpkin and pecan. I'll take a frozen Marie Callender's apple pie and bake it at my niece's tomorrow evening.
-
DR George I enjoyed the photos.
-
Yes nice photos DR GEORGE.
-
Whew busy morning here - just taking my baby sister shopping....she is slow.....well she is slower than I am, so I do a lot of waiting around - but that's okay.
-
DR JEANNE I am emailing you my quote for cleaning your house....I think my labor charge will be quite competitive, but the travel charges may be a bit steep.....
-
I always liked the brown and serve rolls that we had now and then. Our local bread company Colonial, had the best ones, but they were all good.
In fact I bought a package of them this week. The Hawaiian Bread company also makes them now....but those are a bit sweet for me.
-
Although I do buy the Hawaiian hot dog and hamburger buns....most excellent....and they don't crumble up with tomatoes and mayo...
-
Getting the hours back vibes for MR BK

Thanks, Jane!

Yes nice photos DR GEORGE.
And thanks, Jrand!

Gratuitous post #20...at 11:00 a.m.?? :-\
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe seven hours of sleep.
-
Bad allergy attack pre-bed. It actually began at rehearsal, but wasn't too bad and then seemed okay - I should have taken the pill when I got home.
-
But didn't.
-
What is this page one malarky?
-
I got home from the lab work, had some coffee and a muffin, lay down, and spent the past five hours napping. I think I'm coming down with something, and I hope I am not.
-
ChasSmith has written a wonderful review - check it out. I don't know who the other one is from, but it's also wonderful.

Those are great reviews, BK! Congrats!

Allergy be gone vibes.
-
One more ...
-
Two!
-
Lotta housework to do, even if i am not hosting anyone for Thanksgiving.
-
Nice reviews. I hope to add mine in a day or so.
-
THunderstorms and strong winds are predicted for these here parts this evening and tomorrow.....hopefully we won't blow away.
Birdy Barnum is busy throwing his cashews out of his food bowl onto the floor.... PA-tooie!
-
This has been a completely lost day. I'm not happy about it, but I can't do much about it. So there.
-
Nice reviews. I hope to add mine in a day or so.
I hope to watch mine in a day or so.
-
Yes, we could use more reviews, especially comparing the two versions.

Had a patty melt and side Caesar for food. At Jerry's Deli. At one of the window booths there was some drama, although I have no idea what really happened. Four people at a table. The guy sitting on the end suddenly bolts from the table, runs out the door and gets in a waiting SUV that speeds off. The others in the booth go after him, but too late. Someone was positing it was a drug buy or something - who knows.
-
Picked up a package and a DGA screener - Joker. Plus got a letter from Warner Bros. with the download code for all their FYC movies, so I can watch some online.
-
Listening to music - the rather astoundingly interesting symphonies of Rued Langaard - read about him - fascinating stuff. One of his pieces, Music of the Spheres, is utterly amazing if you know when it was written. The avant-garde Ligetti said when he saw the score that he had no idea he'd been imitating Langaard's music (he'd never seen nor heard the piece before). The guy had crazy ideas at a time when NO ONE had them. His symphonies start out very conventionally, rather Mahleresque, but that quickly changes and then all bets are off. A couple of his symphonies last six minutes.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Allergy begone vibes to BK.
-
This morning I definitely felt I was coming down with something. Sneezing last night, then again this morning. Then feeling chilled. I took my trusty Sambucol, plus some echinacea, and am now merely tired.
-
Good evening!
-
I had trouble sleeping, which didn't help. I felt sleepy, then got into bed and was wide awake. I was just about to fall asleep about 1:30 when suddenly the room was flooded with light. Damn lamp. I bought it a few months ago from Amazon, because I needde better reading light. It has three levels--very bright to average. You turn it on and off and also adjust the levels by tapping on the top of the lamp. When we have a power surge the lamp thinks that it's being turned on. And on the very bright level. This is the second time I've had to get up during the night to turn the lamp off. I may need to put it on a surge protector.
-
I wanted to go to Whole Foods Market, but dislike crowded stores. (I'm not a shopper, as you can tell.) I waited for the lunch rush to abate--very busy even without the holidays--then gave it a try. Their parking lot is small and street parking is very limited. They wisely had a couple of parking attendants and I was able to park quickly. Not a great selection of food by then, but I bought a few things for the next few days. I saw some half pies. I didn't buy one, but I think it's a good idea and had never seen that before. I was very surprised when the cashier told me that they'll be open on Thanksgiving.
-
While I was bundled up this morning I took advantage of a few pre-Black Friday sales. So nice when you can get a discount on stuff you were going to buy anyway.
-
Hello, Kevin.
Are you home or away?
-
This has been a completely lost day. I'm not happy about it, but I can't do much about it. So there.
You needed the rest. You'll be better off for it in the days to come.
-
Jrand, I looked for your quote, but I think my inbox broke. Something about emails exceeding capacity.
-
I've heard that chimps can be trained to do cleaning. They think it's great fun. But be careful what you leave in the fridge.
-
I watched BEING THERE, a Peter Sellers film from 1979. I'd never heard of it before, but found it quite interesting.
-
TTFN.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the theater.
-

How annoying. I think you need that surge protector.

Which one do you shop at? I like the one in Brentwood. We rarely go now that we are somewhat near one. It just isn't convenient.
-
Keith asked if I wanted to go to Costco today. I said yes except it will be too crowded. We stopped at Safeway on the way home as it is the fastest market near us.
-

Always nice.

I watched BEING THERE, a Peter Sellers film from 1979. I'd never heard of it before, but found it quite interesting.
I wonder now that you have seen it if you will notice people referencing it.
-
I didn't get much sleep last night & am trying not to nap now. Keith did about as well as I did.
-
We had a tentative plan to meet our friends in Vegas again for my birthday. A second couple that couldn't go last year was to go with us. Since they can't make it we have postponed the plans.
-
As much as going to a warmer climate was appealing we decided not to get on a plane & drive someplace for the night. That decision was made when our weather was still decent.
-
Now the temps have dropped & rain or snow is expected wherever we want to go.
-
Trying to find an easy, not too far, non stop flight to a warmer location has become a challenge. So much for spontaneity.
-
DR John we would go to San Antonio again if we could get a non-stop flight. We would be happy to simply walk the Riverwalk.
-
I enjoyed a good sourdough bread or roll.
-
I used to bake a white bread Vienna loaf, or make it into bread bowls, or rolls, depending what we needed.
-
I like a good Jewish rye or Challah.
-
I enjoyed a good sourdough bread or roll.
Ooo...sourdough rolls with lots of butter. :D
-
And now, I'm finally leaving work. I just saw that Taco Bell has a taquito-like product! If the local Taco Bell has it, I must try it! So, I'm off to Taco Bell to see if they have it.
Be back later.
-
I watched BEING THERE, a Peter Sellers film from 1979. I'd never heard of it before, but found it quite interesting.
I love that movie. Probably Hal Ashby's best. Definitely Peter Sellers at his finest.
-

We're having a weird fall/winter. Some days, it's freezing. Today, it topped 80. Friday, back down in the 50s. It's all over the place. And you never know what to wear. I now leave my Irish cable sweater in the car just in case.
-
There aren't many non-stop flights to San Antonio. If you want to spend any time in the Hill Country, you might look at Austin and drive down.
-
Watching a film called News from Home by a French filmmaker called Chantal Ackerman. Criterion Collection thinks she's something. Frankly, I'm finding the three movies on this disc pretentious and visually limited, yet the visuals are supposed to be the big deal here.
-
Glad that one is from the library and not something I paid any money for.
-
Been cleaning house tonight. Long overdue.
-
I managed to get the treadmill I haven't used in 10 years out to the garage. Will put it out for the next trash pickup.
-
I'm also getting rid of old stereo speakers. But I may donate those to Goodwill.
-
The soundbar has replaced the need for speakers like those.
-
Where is everyone tonight?
-
Shopping for Thanksgiving?
-
I managed to get some stuff for a Greek salad tonight, and braving the grocery wasn't too bad.
-
Not too many people were buying fruits and vegetables. They were in the bakery and in the instant stuffing/instant mashed potatoes aisle.
-
After all the cleaning, I've discovered there's a little more floor space in this room now.
-
And I have more DVDs to watch than I will ever have time for in the rest of my life. I need to stop buying and start watching.
-
And I need to stop buying and start listening to all of the CDs I have.
-
Of course, that'll never happen.
-
Instead, I watch pretentious art flicks from the library.
-
I think I may send this one into fast forward.
-
One more post.
-
Four!
-
Hi, jan!
-
Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
-
I worked a couple of hours of OT today, went in an hour early and worked an hour late
-
Then I went to BJs fir some thanksgiving shopping
-
I must have hit it perfectly...
-
I arrived at 6:20 got everything I wanted plus wandered a bit a looked at some stuff
-
And I was checked out and home by 7
-
I actually walked right up to the self check register with no line at all
-
I like the self check in this particular store because they have a scan gun
-
Wh3n I load my cart I make sure all the the bar codes are facing up .
-
Then I get to the register scan my card, grab the gun scan each item and boom I’m done no belt no unpacking and repacking the cart
-
We’re going to my brother’s home again
-
I’m in charge of bringing mashed potatoes, mushrooms, wine and a fruit pie
-
And my mom
-
She’s bringing her cauliflower casserole
-
Sounds like a nice menu by itself, Vixmom.
-
We're doing mushrooms, too. I just wanted them.
-
The Creature has not yet arrived on Long Island
-
Maybe tomorrow
-
We're doing mushrooms, too. I just wanted them.
They are my brothers favorite
-
I see a huge amount so I can leave him a lot
-
I sautée thinly sliced vidalia onion in butter and then add the peeled and thickly sliced mushrooms, butter and sherry and let it simmer for hours
-
How are you making your mushrooms?
-
Oh gosh I just realized I’m entirely out of sherry
-
Now I’ll have to brave the liquor store the day before Thanksgiving
-
I enjoyed a good sourdough bread or roll.
Ooo...sourdough rolls with lots of butter. :D
Butter if I toast it, and then not very much.
-

Only needing a sweater sounds wonderful. Most of all you don't have much rain in your 10 day forecast.
-
There aren't many non-stop flights to San Antonio. If you want to spend any time in the Hill Country, you might look at Austin and drive down.
We don't want to rent a car again. We were thinking a simple trip for a few days of walking miles on the riverwalk and eating Mexican food. We could possibly spend some time with you. Is the airport small?
-
After all the cleaning, I've discovered there's a little more floor space in this room now.
That must feel good.
-
Instead, I watch pretentious art flicks from the library.
;D
-
I think I may send this one into fast forward.
I do that with books sometimes.
-
A great story:

I worked a couple of hours of OT today, went in an hour early and worked an hour late
It is great you now get OT when you work extra hours.
-
I like the self check in this particular store because they have a scan gun
I have never seen one in self check.
-
Then I get to the register scan my card, grab the gun scan each item and boom I’m done no belt no unpacking and repacking the cart
I like this.
-
We’re going to my brother’s home again
I hope your family is wdll and not spreading germs this year ;)
-
Sounds like a nice menu by itself, Vixmom.
The portion we would eat 😊
-
I sautée thinly sliced vidalia onion in butter and then add the peeled and thickly sliced mushrooms, butter and sherry and let it simmer for hours
It sounds delicious.
-
Now I’ll have to brave the liquor store the day before Thanksgiving
Oh no. Good luck.
-
'night
-
Back from a decent run-through - well, some decent, mostly act one, which finally is within spitting distance of the forty-five minutes I want it to run - tonight forty-eight.
-
And I have more DVDs to watch than I will ever have time for in the rest of my life. I need to stop buying and start watching.
I feel your pain!
;)
-
And I need to stop buying and start listening to all of the CDs I have.
Again, same.
-
Of course, that'll never happen.
DITTO!! :))
-
Instead, I watch pretentious art flicks from the library.
And that's where we diverge. I watch TV instead.
-
We’re going to my brother’s home again

I do not have high hopes, my SIL teaches kindergarten in economically depressed area of Brooklyn, her students are always sick so of course....
-
Well the alarm goes off in 3 hours and 45 minutes...maybe I should think about some sleep
-
Goodnight
-
Hi, Vixmom.
-
Good night, Vixmom.
-
Then I went to BJs fir some thanksgiving shopping
Tonight, I went to Fred Meyer to get more cream cheese (one 8-ounce package) because I wasn't sure how many 1-once packets I had.
-
I got a package of 1-ounce single-serve packets of cream cheese at Costco, but I got back home, I realized that the packets are actually "cream cheese spread."
-
It's softer than the 8-ounce blocks, so I don't want to take the chance on using them in a cheesecake. :-\
-
So, I didn't make my cheesecake tonight.
-
I'll get more cream cheese and make it tomorrow night.
-
I do have everything else.
-
Then I get to the register scan my card, grab the gun scan each item and boom I’m done no belt no unpacking and repacking the cart
At Fred Meyer, you have to scan and then place each item in the bagging area.
-
You can't leave anything in the cart when you're at the self-checkout.
-
Hello.
-
I am trying (with some success) to get myself sick for Thanksgiving.
-
Page Six
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I am trying (with some success) to get myself sick for Thanksgiving.
There was a period of five years in a row when I got sick right around Thanksgiving Day. I didn't mind because I don't really care for turkey. ;)

The important part of Thanksgiving is not the eating of turkey, but it is the gathering together with the people who mean the most to you.
-
I know a lot of people who never serve turkey on Thanksgiving.
-
In fact, one year the closest I got to turkey on Thanksgiving was watching the musical of LOST HORIZON.

I totally understand that, but this was when I was in high school and EVERYONE else ate turkey, and I was the weird one because I didn't want it.

Our local news station was going on and on about the state of Oregon was about to be hit with a “bomb cyclone” with winds up to 80 mph.
-
I texted my friend who lives in Dallas, Oregon; and he said they had to wind at all.

You don’t even like a turkey sub from Subway or Jimmy Johns?

Yes, I do (and Meconi's and Quiznos and Blimpies, even).
-
Couldn’t you just put your Thanksgiving turkey on a French roll and like it?
-
I don't food that looks like it used to be alive and/or has bones. :P
-
That's my eating disorder. ::)
;)

I THINK I really want to see KNIVES OUT.

My! That was a lot stronger than I intended.

I do, too!
