We headed out for a walk in rather nice weather and a bit of protection in case it rained.  We weren't expecting a monsoon or thunder & lightning ;D

Listening to a composer completely new to me - I've never heard one note of this person's music - but whilst writing the notes for the Claus Ogerman CD Ogerman lists this man as one of his two main musical influences - the other being Scriabin.  This fellow is named Max Reger.  I'm listening to disc once of this set - and yes, while some of the music is not Ogerman-esque at all, some of it absolutely has the same sort of orchestral color that Ogerman has.  Interesting to hear this stuff and I like this guy so far.

Reger's most famous composition is the Christmas song, "The Virgin's Slumber Song."

Glad that DR RLP is back among us....and adjusting to his new home.

Do you have your own place or are you sharing digs with family?

DR Ron it is nice to see you posting again.  Oct 10th is a long time to wait for your household goods.  Since you were in a position to wait did you find a more economical method of shipment, such as a shipping pod?

No pod, but all things considered, I got 1,040 cu.ft. shipped at $4,200.

My mom put her house into my name a few years ago.  I am sharing the house with her.  She has given up the master BR and bath to me.  It's an adjustment for her.  I'm free to do whatever I want to make it "my" home.

George - so that there can be a copy of the show, maybe the actors would be willing to come in and speak or read the show (carefully synching it to the video while watching, even just for a few key scenes) so that something special could be in the archives for this particularly successful run?

Actually, that was just suggested this morning, so we'll see if that happens.  I told our stage manager to make sure that the sound board plot isn't deleted!  But, of course, someone has to know how to do it for it to happen.

I made a deal yesterday for an actor to do an audio recording of my one-person play, (Errol) FLYNN.

That makes audio versions of five (5) of my one-person plays currently in production. The other four are (Clark) GABLE, (Carole) LOMBARD, (Spencer) TRACY and (Basil) RATHBONE.

It's a bit of a juggling act for me, particularly since two of the actors are in the UK, but (hopefully) all five will be finished and available for holiday giving.

Congrats, Druxy!

In all of the excitement over DR ELMORE's natal day, I forgot to mention the 104th birthday of Miss Frances Farmer yesterday.

A very happy (if belated) 104th birthday to Miss Frances Farmer!

Hello, all. I am alive and well and living in Johnston SC.

My laptop arrived this afternoon, and I just made the WiFi connection.

Belated birthday greetings (on this here blog, that is) to DR Elmo.  I sent him a FB greeting, but it never seems official until it's done here.

I feel like I'm visiting, even though many of my things have arrived via USPS and UPS.  My household goods arrive Oct. 10th, and that includes my plasma TV and all my movies and CDs (except for a few I've received here over the  past six weeks).

I have no dirt as of yet.  Probably won't be much.  More like folksy observations of things that weird me out after 24 years in California.

The food has been really good, though.

Welcome back, Ron!  And welcome to your new home!

An adjustment, and very nice of her.  Of course she gladly did it to have you home with her.  Did she make any modifications to her new bedroom before moving into it?

Just watched my Angie episode.  It's really funny - one of my favorite things I ever did for television.  As those who've read my book know, when I got to the reading I looked at the script, turned around and walked out - there were like five lines of dialogue or something and I was just done with that kind of thing.  I called my manager and she yelled at me to get my butt cheeks back in there and actually read the thing rather than count lines.  I did and boy was she right - all reaction comedy.  I went in and read (or reacted), got it on the spot, and had the best time.

I finally spent the time to figure out how to stop videos from automatically playing on facebook.  It is embarrassing when I am in public using my phone.

Thank you DR RLP - it sounds like a lovely living arrangement.  I, too, share a home with my mother.....it is nice to do things for her after all the years she spent doing things for me.....

Had a lovely dinner with some Chinese friends tonight. They chattered on. I cleared plates of garlicky noodles, salt and pepper calamari, wonton soup, tea-smoked duck and a hot pot with the most amazing mushrooms and slabs of lotus root. Plenty of ginger and garlic, plus some coriander seeds. Yum.

Watching the last of The Trip. Sadly, the library copy isn't very good.

Been listening to a fun book on writing called Do I Make Myself Clear? It's by Harold Evans, and it's all about how to write to be understood. I wonder what would have happened if he had grabbed Virginia Woolf by the literary throat.

The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy just arrived to listen to. I guess that's next.
