I found By Jeeves really REALLY funny.  It's too bad it didn't run longer.  It's a good example that the ALW is not always a draw.  The video is a filmed version of what was actually on stage on Broadway, though shot in Canada with the Bway cast.  It's just fun, british humor, but fun... and very anti-ALW style.

WiW sung through musical.  Not sure if it is a musical and I didn't get through.

My best laugh of the day! Thank you, DR Tom!

IMHO "The Woman In White" is a story crying our NOT to be musicalised. There is dialogue and a lot of "patter songs" that should have remained dialogue.

I truly cannot imagine that in eight months or so when I'm planning my next NYC trip that I'll have the slighest interest in seeing the show. However, it would probably depend on what else opens this year and what's still running next summer.

My book group guests will be here in about half an hour, so I'll sign off now.  We're watching the Reese Witherspoon Vanity Fair.  Some might actually have read the book, but I just couldn't get through it.

DR Tomovoz - Having written one of my major college papers (back in the dark ages) on the Federal Theatre Project, I found Cradle Will Rock very satisfying.  I love the cast, especially John Turturro and Cherry Jones.
Thanks Ginny. Off to Amazon I guess as I suspect that the DVD will not be available in OZ.

I'm a fan of Rueben Blades too.  (Ever since Milagro)

A cleaned up affair, DRGinny.  The A&E/BBC version on 2 DVDs is much better.  The Witherspoon is trying too hard to make Becky Sharp a modern woman; she's smart, sassy, unscrupulous, and a villain in the book.  Talk about the things Margaret Mitchell stole from it for GWTW.

We're just ironing out a few little details, but we've booked the El Portal Theater and the play will open on January 12th if all goes according to Hoyle.

Lovely reviews, BK!

I've been spending a fun time over at the Kritzerland site.  Can't wait for the new releases.  Fun interview with Tony Walton.  Site's really coming along.

WOMAN IN WHITE is doing quite well in the U.K. Of course, that doesn't mean it'll be a hit here, but I've heard it's pretty decent.

I like Woman in White so far (based only on the recording, of course), but I don't love it.  I need to listen to it more times to get to know it.  It seems to me that there is more spoken dialogue than previous ALW shows...I don't know how much compared to Sunset Blvd., though, but more in general.

So both TPUnk and Stuart agree with me on the choreography for WILD WOMEN OF WONGO and HORROR OF PARTY BEACH?

I don't mean to sound whiny or bitchy about money that I normally wouldn't have anyway. I'm just HORRIBLY disappointed and the prospects of working here any longer than I have to makes me feel even worse. We asked if raises were a possiblity this year - even enough just to allow for inflation - and they told us that they wouldn't consider raises until at least next fall. I'd like to know how they think someone can survive on $1400/mo in New York City...

$1400.00 a month in New York?  Honey, I made more than that twenty years ago at Home Liquors in South Hackensack, New Jersey!  Jason, we need to find you a new job......... or a rich boyfriend!

DR Dan (the Man), you have now given us proof that you are the lovechild of Phoebe Buffay and the captain of a passing Vogon starship!

I have a lot to live up to, then!

Don't worry about POTO Vixmom. Your daughter is at the right age to love it. Most of us grew out of it though!

Some of us don't care to grow out of it.

I'm back from THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, which goddaughter Charlotte said was "awesome."  I thought it was dumber than a bag of hair but a million times more fun, and now i've had my white trash fix for the next 50 years.

BB6 - SPOILERS

Well, only spoilers if you didn't see the live show and are going to watch later.

One thing I'm wondering if anyone else caught this. Janelle had 300 written on her board for the answer in the tiebreaker, with time called for giving an answer. She was holding it upside down, when Julie Chen said "Janelle you are upside down" she turned it around and it now read 275.   If she had kept 300 she wouldn't have been HOH.  Hmmm makes you wonder.

I think she did a good thing nominating Jenn and Maggie.  April will really go crazy now.

BIG BROTHER SPOILERS FOR TONIGHT's SHOW:

BB6 - SPOILERS

Yes I saw that it said 300 when it was upside down.  So either she changed it, or she had another number written on the other side.

I think it was fair, since when we saw the 300 upside down, april had still not even written down her answer.

But it was interesting how that happened.

Anyhow i was so happy!

I had a good feeling when they announced a numbers question, since janelle is very smart, and april and other are not.
