I watched (and mainly suffered through) THE ARISTOCRATS. No, the filthiness didn't bother me; it bored me. More interesting were the ways they tore the philosophy of the joke down to try to figure out what made it funny. Also, the variations on the punch line were interesting. But none of it made me laugh much.

At least I can say that I've seen it.

And then I finished off the third disc in the MEDIUM box. This was the one where an ill Allison dreams herself into a 1960s sitcom about married mind readers. I liked this episode a lot when I first saw it and enjoyed seeing it again today.

What's so infuriating is that it didn't reach you, but it also didn't come back to me. You'd think with two addresses, it would find its way SOMEWHERE!  Oy!

Somewhere between here and there....someone must be enjoying James and Suzanne and sipping a cocktail.  8)

I have PETER PAN cued up on the DVD player ready to be shown tonight.

And we're doing dinner early tonight which will help keep the evening from running so late.

I read about DR Ron's cool temperatures, and I'm SO envious. Currently, it's 91 with humidity so high that the leaves on the trees are sweating. It's AWFUL outside.

And it's STILL COOL!  The fog is only thinned out a bit...not totally dissipated.

Meanwhile, I'm totally spent.  The week has caught up to me.  The days of intense heat, some intense googling (for work) and making telephone calls to real estate developers attempting to build a database for a project that's about to be announced...very exhausting mentally.

So...I'm unwinding as I type...not voluntarily, either.  It's happening at its sole discretion and I'm just along for the ride.

Am taking tomorrow off!

BK, I've a friend who has been putting every album I have on CD.  I'm currently listening to one he just dubbed LAINIE KAZAN...LOVE IS LAINIE.  One of the cuts is They Don't Give Medals to Yesterday's Heroes.  Nice, but not nearly as nice as Mr. Haines' version.

I'm so in the mood for a good Mexican meal at Casa Vega, and if Pogue still lived here I'd try to rope him in, but alas I can find on adventurous soul to eat there.

Instead I ate CRAP from Gelson's - so BORED of that stuff.  Three chicken tenders and some macaroni and beef (very small portion) - don't know how many calories that adds up to, but, with the jog and all, it can't add up to all that much so maybe I'll get something to chew on later.

BK, you keep complaining about the crap you get from Gelson's.  Why do you keep going there, if you don't like the food they prepare there?

Our deli section, in it's pre-prepared and packaged goods, has a breakdown on all of it's packages on contents and nutritional value.  I'm pretty sure this is by national law.  Double-check the packages you purchased, the calorie details should be there (I hope).

Der Brucer is rummaging through the kitchen.  He finally decided to run a wrecking ball through our refrigerator, and is cleaning up the damage before any of the green furry things can hide again.

What this means is, I'm going to have to get going on dinner pretty soon.  Steaks tonight, with baked taters and a wedge of iceberg lettuce nicely dressed.  Tomorrow, another attempt at fried chicken.  I've come across a couple of better recipies, which should give us a better crust.  Details later, when I get them the proper tryout.

The Gelson's deli is all freshly prepared foods - no calorie labels.  It's not crap, really, but I've just eaten so much of it this year that it's all crap to me.

Back from the office, where the  air conditioning wasn't working, so they had gone out and bought a few extra fans.  Fans are not as effective as air conditioning.

Wsan't there a TV special years ago called I'M A FAN?  I think Georga Engel and Dick Van Dyke were on it.

Speaking of Georga Engel,

SPOILER WARNING RE DROWSY CHAPERONE :)

how does she get spat on eight times a week in DROWSY CHAPERONE's spit takes without getting sick?  When they do the calls for the road company, do they have to specify "you'll be spat on eight times a week?"

What I want to see on DVD is "The Uninvited" with Ray Milland.

It's amazing to me that it's not out yet.

Maybe it was out, but then it vanished!

If the evening runs late, perhaps he will have to stay over!
