Jose, I have a lot of Le Creuset--not that that'll help you! Just that I like cooking with enameled cast iron. Not that I cook much these days. Getting lazy in my old age. Hope you find your dutch oven.

Actually, the sheetrock guys--"rockers"--are some of the easiest to find because drywall is so prevalent. Try finding an honest-to-god plasterer! Or someone to restore virtually anything. We've lost almost all of our skilled craftsmen. A sad commentary on our society, IMHO.

Have you thought about learning how to do it yourselves? Takes some upper body strength.

I began my evening with the new Blu-ray release of John Woo's BROKEN ARROW. The story is pretty dopey, but some of the action scenes are excellent, and I like that they're played more or less in real time as opposed to the endless slo-mo fights and motorcycle chases in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE II.

The high def, however, was somewhat disappointing. I found the first half of the film pretty ordinary in terms of sharpness and dimensionality though as the movie got near the final third or so, the image sharpened considerably and it looked much more like a high definition disc.

Still, I'd say this is the weakest Fox Blu-ray release that I've seen. Sound-wise, it was extraordinary in DTS-HD.

Next, I watched an episode of LAW & ORDER: CI from the second season boxed set. This one had to do with a pharmacist who had made an overlarge pledge to his church and was having to find ways to make extra cash (like selling steroids under the table and diluting chemotherapy drugs to make an order go farther.) Very sad episode.

Much to my surprise, MONK was a rerun from earlier in the season, the one where Monk takes on a leper's case, and the man is later murdered. I watched it anyway since I couldn't quite remember how the perp got captured, but once I got my mind to click in, I sped ahead to the end of the episode.

PSYCH was a new episode, however, and Sean and Gus investigate the stalking and attack on a female tennis player. Good mystery with a surprise guilty party.

Tomorrow I'd like to finish up the latest Charlie Chan box, and then watch the rest of the shows from last week I haven't gotten to yet: THE OFFICE, SCRUBS, GHOST WHISPERER, and LAW & ORDER.

And since I was in the mood for something bubbly and refreshing - and non-alcoholic - I opened a bottle of Sparkling Raspberry Apple Cider that I received for New Year's. It truly hit the spot. -And the bottle came with it's own "re"-cap. Very handy.

Yes Jose, I did look at the UPTAs site and it was very interesting. I have a lot of admiration for the work you do -- it is a real talent to sight-read at a level that you can just lock your brain on it.

Early on, and when I still lived in L.A., I took a couple of 3-hour studio calls doing score work for films. I absolutely hated it, because of the intense pressure that I put on myself. At the same time, I was subbing as the M.D. for "General Hospital" in the summer, and I absolutely loved it because I worked alone in a sound room and the score was completely original improvisation.... other than the main title theme at the opening and closing.
