Post by: bk on May 07, 2018, 12:20:27 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 87, and now it is time for you to post until the 87 cows come home.

Well, everyday this week, call time for rehearsal is 6:00 pm, so I'll need to get to work earlier than usual so that I can leave work earlier than usual, which means that I need to get to bed earlier than usual so that I can wake up earlier than usual...so I'm off to bed.

Good night and have a good day, all!

All was good until Annabelle and Thatch decided around 4:30 to stop sleeping on top and around me and to wrestle all over me instead. So I had about an hour of rambunctious kitties disturbing my sleep.  Thatch has decided that he likes sleeping with me and I am still surprised and happy that I'm now preferable to an Amazon carton.

Does anyone know anything about a deed of survivorship, or something like that?

Randy called me last night.  He ad Jo just had their wills drawn up and their attorney told him that of he should die tomorrow, his estate would receive nothing of the property sale without a deed of survivorship  assigning the property to Jo or his executors.  He advised me to do this as well, since it may be our estates that actually see a sale.

Does anyone know anything about a deed of survivalship, or something like that?

Randy called me last night.  He ad Jo just had their wills drawn up and their attorney told him that of he should die tomorrow, his estate would receive nothing of the property sale without a deed of survivalship  assigning the property to Jo or his executors.  He advised me to do this as well, since it may be our estates that actually see a sale.

The deed should be NOT be set up as A joint tenancy or joint tenancy with right of survivorship (JTROS, JTWROS or JT TEN WROS)

That  is a type of concurrent estate in which co-owners have a right of survivorship, meaning that if one owner dies, that owner's interest in the property will pass to the surviving owner or owners by operation of law, and avoiding probate

So if one of you dies the surviving owners own the whole property, it does not go to to your estate

What you want is tenants in common, Tenats in common have no rights of survivorship. Unless the deceased individual's will specifies that his or her interest in the property is to be divided among the surviving owners, a deceased tenant in common's interest belongs to his or her estate.

You can get the info online and do it yourself.  Then take it too a notary, and then the courthouse where it will be processed if it looks good.

Monday morning greetings!  I have been to our primary care physician about my severe knee pain and to the public library to get Cari's signature on the certificates that are being presented at tomorrow's AAUW dinner meeting.  I'm home without a car.  Richard and Rob took it in for a routine safety check and maintenance before I drive it to Michigan this weekend.  I'm going to ice my knee.

It took me a long time to get used to sleeping without cats all over me, and then later without a 118 pound dog partially smothering me.

I am back from bank and supermarket.  I went to my bank and had my power of attorney letter for Randy notarized, then headed up to the supermarket, not the corner bodega.  I went for 3-5 items and returned by taxi with four filled bags of groceries.

If you want your third to go to your estate rather than automatically   to your brothers then you must hold the property as Tenant in Common.   If you hold it aS joint tenants with right of survivirship hey'll get it all and whoever lives, longest gets the whole thing

DR vixmom, my attorney looked over the deed and sent me this:
And the deed says, "tenants in common"

So your interest passes to your estate, whether in kind or in cash.

I think the Ohio attorney is preparing a document that would by law pass your brother's interest directly to his spouse.

You don't need or want that.

There was a show tried out of Fran Landesman's songs in the mid-1990's at The Supper Club (might have been in the Edison).  Anita Gillette was in it.  It was directed by Susan H. Schulman.  Jujamcyn was involved, because of Rocco Landesman then being the head of Jujamcyn.  It was excellent, but IIRC never caught on in ticket sales, despite how good it was - and that can be a challenge.

Well, guess what??  Cole Porter (http://www.kritzerland.com/porter_paris.htm), The Grass Harp (http://www.kritzerland.com/grassharp.htm) AND Pieces-of-Eight (http://www.kritzerland.com/monk8.htm) have all arrived in Tumwater! ;D

Danbury, too! Also got a couple of things from Flicker Alley.

Following a bit of a dry spell, a nice day at the mailbox.  :)

Topic of the Day (composers and lyricists):

Skip Kennon
Bruce Kimmel
Fred Landau

:D

Who’s the guy in the middle?

Shhh...don't tell anyone, but that's the secret identity of our very own Guy Haines!

I got an email from someone in the building, saying that someone involved with the current My Fair Lady who (of course) knows Diana Rigg thinks she will get a kick out of the tribute video, so he sent it to her!

How funny. Last night while doing the dishes I imagined DR FJL receiving a phone call from Ms Rigg. She'd seen it, liked it, and called.

It was hard enough to get over bring starstruck and staying helpful and calm when meeting Diane Ladd AND Connie Stevens! I even got tongue-tied around Pat Suzuki!   I think getting a call from Dame Diana Rigg could take months to a year off my life.  :)

TOD:

I’m sure more will come to mind

Carolyn Leigh
Fran Landesman

Does Bart Howard qualify?

Didn't Carolyn Leigh write "Hey Overlook Me?"  (Bad joke!)  She'll certainly always be remembered for (possibly an urban legend) being angry at what her co-writers were doing in out of town rehearsals, running out of the theatre, and coming back with a cop, telling him to arrest these people, they were violating her Dramatist Guild rights.

Thank you, DR Jeanne.  Taking it easy today, because tomorrow is busy with a luncheon with one ladies’ group and dinner with another.  They’re at the same country club and I’m hoping the menus are different!

I’m at the Albany airport, not reading my books.

I am wearing my Alamo t-shirt today and we were reminiscing about our wonderful trip.  We were also thankful that we could not get a non-stop flight to San Antonio which forced us to fly into Austin, rent a car, visit family, etc and extend our trip.

That makes sense

I'm up - oh, wait...

Had a chicken salad sandwich and a side Caesar salad for the meal o' the day - really good.  Picked up no packages, began prepping this week's show release announcement - there won't be another for almost two weeks - whew - and got news that the wonderful film composer Soren Hyldgaard passed away at fifty-five.  He did The Spider, which we issued - very low seller but one of my favorite releases - a gorgeous score.  I've been sitting on another Hyldgaard CD since then, and we'll do it now as a tribute, even though it won't sell very many - we'll just do five hundred.  If we'd done only that on The Spider it would have been better.

Suppose I should have a snack to augment my sandwich and tiny salad.  Ralph's, for some completely inane reason, has changed everything around the deli and hot food places that I have no idea where things have got to.  It was perfectly laid out and now it's terrible.  And everyone is complaining about it.
