Off to do a couple of errands, pick up Mom, and meet the family for Rob's birthday celebration at Montgomery Inn.

Bye for now!

Good Afternoon!

Well, well, well... The day started off well, then... It was like a whole lotta heads all got stuck in Uranus all at once and all in a row.  The veritable turning of the tide was truly strange and bewildering.

And that's all for now for this post.

There's Paul Francis Webster again.

During his career, Webster earned 11-13 Oscar nominations [Don't recall the exact number] and won 3 times.

He was a fascinating man.  Collected historical autographs.  He had signatures (i.e. letters or whatever) from all the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

He lived in Beverly Hills on Crescent Drive, two doors down from Doris Day.  Once, when Los Angeles was experiencing some terrific rain storms, a warning went out that a dam overlooking BH might overflow, flooding the city.

Over a period of several hours, Webster carried all of his priceless autographs up to the 3rd floor of his house, so that they would remain safe.

Then, as soon as he'd finished that exhausing job, they caalled an "All Clear," and he had to carry them all back down.

 :)

DR edi, Thank you for the baggy pants laugh. I saw a thing on COPS or something else a couple of years ago where they showed several crimes that were aborted by falling pants, a gangsta fashion concept which I do not understand in the least.

I just had a lovely phone call frm our DR FJL who appears to be having a fun time in DC as a member of the wedding. He asked me to tell you all howdy and says he'll see us online tomorrow night. The wedding is about two hours from now.

Dear Elmore, I have been thinking of you many times every day. I'm glad you are coping with your diagnosis with such good humor. We have diabetes in my family and folks like my mom's brother have coped with it very well by following the doctor's orders and their own research.

Of course, they didn't have friends as sweet as Jose, but they've managed!

Whoever would have thought that any people I met online when I stopped lurking on HHW would have become so important and dear to me? Yes, DR Jose is a fabulous friend, but I'm very lucky to know so many wonderful folk on this site and to consider them good friends!
