Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 89, and now it is time for you to post until the 89 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CANICULAR!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
BK, Congrats on the successful Kritzerland show!! :D
-
Second post after Dino.
-
Roger Befeler is certainly a handsome man.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, BK. Congratulations on another great show.

It's been a wild time since last night. I went out dancing with Joy and a few friends. After we dropped off Joy, she discovered that her husband and her sister had gone to the ER because of problems from his surgery. I went back and took her to visit Peter. The scene was chaotic. The first blood test wasn't conclusive because the blood clotted. So, they did another test but somehow the blood never made it to the lab. What they could tell was that he has an infection, which means they're going to keep him overnight. So, I took Joy and her sister, who had gone to the ER with Peter, home at around midnight.
This morning I learned that they transferred Peter to the hospital where he had had the surgery. I'm going to take her there in a little bit.
So, your vibes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Roger, who played the Beast in the national tour of the show, married his Beauty, Kim Huber - they have two great kids.

Page one? Really?
-
Listening to the fantastic Brahms violin concerto.

Yesterday, John also wrote:
Has anybody hear Betty Buckley's new album, Hope? I seriously dislike it.
I didn't "seriously" dislike it, but it's probably my least favorite album of hers. I hope don't continue to dislike the "uniqueness" of her song choices on future albums. :-\

Choreographer Gillian Lynne has died at the age of 92. I was never a fan of her work.
Wow...92! I had no idea that she was that old.
-
Today, I have my first production meeting for Legally Blonde. I'm doing props and I've never done them before. :-\
-
92 is a good run for anyone.
-
Another big laugh in the show was when, in talking about Let It Go from Frozen (which we didn't do, as I cannot stand it), I said, "Now, Guy Haines was going to be here tonight to sing it for you, but he let it go years ago." I then did one line of the song, turned to Richard Allen who was continuing to play, and yelled, "Let it go, Richard!"

That's funny! :))
-
I went through the Legally Blonde script and notated what props are specifically mentioned and...WHAT WAS I THINKING?? :o There are so many!!
-
I do have a few props already: cell phones (to be borrowed from Olympia Family Theater), a gavel, an engagement ring (if the director likes it), and a champagne bottle (an actual Dom Pérignon bottle). But that's all.
-
I'm sure there will be people to help me, but never having done this before, it all just seems so daunting.
-
Good luck and have fun doing the props.

Thanks, Jane!

Are we STILL on page one? Not quite tired enough to sleep yet - maybe I'll go to bed at two after the now playing Brahms first symphony is done.
-
Fine.
-
Well...
-
...since we're finally so close...
-
PAGE TWO DANCE!!
-
And now, I need to go to bed.
Good night, BK, and have a good day, all!
-
But before I do...
-
Gratuitous Post #33!

;)

And NOW I'm going to bed. 8)

Good morning

I have no idea what we're doing on the4th , we aren't having a party and weren't invited anywhere
-
BK, Congrats on the successful Kritzerland show!! :D
Ditto!
-
Our work week is normal except we're off on Wednesday
-
Some of my coworkers chose to take vacation days. Monday and Tuesday and others took Thursday and Friday
-
Good morning, all!
-
Since I am going away at the end of the month I will not be taking extra time this week
-
I will spend the Fourth working on How To Succeed . . . The little play money I have at the moment is going to Saturday's outing with DRs ChasSmith, Vixmom, Ginny and Richard, which I look forward to.
-
The Kritzerland show sounds wonderful. If I can't love her always makes me cry
-
Annabelle, Thatch, and I are staying inside today with the AC.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Congratulations on a great show, BK.
-
I’m spending the Fourth with friends. I’m making the peach-raspberry whatever (can’t decide on pie, cobbler or crumble).
-
I wanna go back to bed. Going to be 102 again today.

You don't look a day over 30.
-
Good morning to all
-
Health and healing vibes to all that need them
-
I was going out to celebrate Canada Day with some other ex-Pats yesterday, but Paisley was still recovering from her spade procedure and could she was still in some discomfort and didn't want to leave her.
-
As for July 4th, no plans at this time.
-
Annabelle and I are off to patrol the building. We are early today. Thatch is lounging in the AC.
-
Monday morning greetings!
In the evening of the Fourth, we're going to 54 Below for supper and 1776.

Remember, the 3 of us have a date for the Fifth!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Congrats on a wonderful show last night!
-
I'm doing the same thing I do every year on the fourth, which is attend our friends' backyard bash complete with fireworks smuggled over from the wilds of the Pennsylvania state line. Their property backs onto a canyon that allows plenty of privacy for such hijinx.
But that one isn't till early evening. For something new this year, we're going to another one earlier at another friend's house not far from there, where there may or may not also be some of the same people.
-
Congratulations to BK & company on Kritzerland 89!

I am sure it was best you stayed home.

Maybe staying home will turn out to be best again in case there are fireworks near you.

You don't look a day over 30.
And I feel 104.

Last night i dreamed I was at Sondheim's townhouse; there was some sort of rehearsal/concert I was working on. I think Liz Callaway might have been involved. As I left, I passed a room where Leonard Bernstein was working at a desk and I went in and chatted with him for a while.
I remember very few dreams these days.
-
I rarely, if ever, even realize that I had a dream.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I can just imagine Leonard Bernstein hanging around with some friends and saying, "Last night I had this dream, I was sitting at this desk working, and Larry Moore came along and we chatted for a while."

-
Page three? Really?
-
First part of the day was having a telephonic conversation about a Sherman event problem caused by the amateur orchestra we're dealing with - but what people get with me in charge is decisiveness and I just handled the problem swiftly with no discussion and everyone involved was really happy to have had it solved.
-
Then I picked up a package, then Grant and I went to Barone's where I had the lunch version of carbonara and a small dinner salad - very good.
-
Now I'm home, listening to Ella does Berlin (the composer, not the city) and working on the casting for the Sherman event.

We are cooling off at our hotel after a delightful afternoon of shopping in NoHo with former DR Jose. He's a great tour guide.

In about 40 minutes we'll venture back out for the 7pm curtain at BOOK OF MORMON.

Perchance former DR Jose could show up at an opportune moment on Saturday?

I have yet to see BOOK OF MORMON. Awaiting a full report!

That would be nice.

Another Amazon review showed up from "Amazon Customer" - have no idea who that is but it's a lovely thing so here it is:
Delicious Mind Candy: Forbidden & Enjoyable
ByAmazon Customeron July 2, 2018
Format: Paperback
Recommended by a friend who knew my tastes in reading favored historical biographies, GEE was a delicious retreat from the pressures of caregiving hospice patients. It was a romp thru history with the overall emotional reactions of those times mixed with facts.
I was seduced by the main character, a strong willed woman, indeed a survivor of her life choices. GEE was so well developed by author, Bruce Kimmel, that I felt I knew her personally.
Reading GEE is best described as mind candy as I thoroughly enjoyed 2 other forbidden passions: reading in bed and not putting this book down until I savored the very last word!
I am looking forward to reading more of Mr. Kimmel's works.

Great review, BK. Hope more people discover the book.

Just finished the Mediocre Showman, I mean the Greatest Showman. What a bland piece of filmmaking. I wonder what people are so jazzed about with this movie. I have friends who loved every minute of it. They watch it time and again with their kids, so it will become what Newsies was. But that doesn't mean it's good.

Peter is home from the hospital. He has a catheter that needs to remain in for five or six more days. Ow.
-
Let's move on.
-
Four!
-
I have two documentaries I want to watch. One is from Werner Herzog about machines and our lives. The other is about Rose-Marie.
-
Peter is home from the hospital. He has a catheter that needs to remain in for five or six more days. Ow.
Welcome home, Peter!
-
Well, I must be off to my first production meeting for Legally Blonde. I don't know what to expect, but as always my mantra is, "It'll be what it'll be." ;)
Be back later.
-
Knowing that The Great Showman would cause me to have a seizure I have avoided it like the plague.

You are a wise man.
-
Started the Herzog movie, Lo and Behold: Reveries of The Connected World. I love his almost insane view of the world. It’s so refreshingly normal.
-
Peter is home from the hospital. He has a catheter that needs to remain in for five or six more days. Ow.
Vibes he does not have to keep it longer.
-
Nice review Bruce :)
-
Starting to watch the recent restoration of Intolerance. It looks gorgeous. I had forgotten that it's also close to three hours long. I may watch only a half hour or so tonight.
-
This set also has two extra Griffith films, so it's five+ hours of material.
-
I found part of the vocal CDs in the garage - those were all in the other garage but they boxed this stuff so stupidly - this box is marked properly as "garage CDs" except that most of what's in the box are DVDs. So I probably have to go into the boxes marked DVDS to find the rest. So annoying. Listening to Claudine Longet - interesting but I've always loved her albums.
-
Um, no posts in an HOUR - an HOUR??? I went to Ralph's and got a little snack, ate it here at home, and have been listening to the complete Liza on A&M - these albums are where Liza was really becoming "LIZA" if you get my meaning - great songs, she's pretty wonderful and lots of charts by the likes of Peter Matz and Nick De Caro.
-
I must have brought in about forty-five CDs.
-
Tonight after work, I went to the first production meeting for the first production of the new theater company Broadway Olympia Productions' first show, Legally Blonde.
-
We all introduced ourselves to each other and talked a little about what we're doing for the show.
-
I read through the script and made a list of all the props that are specifically referenced in the script.
-
:o
-
It's a big list!
-
WHAT WAS I THINKING??
-
I actually already have a few things myself, so I won't be starting absolutely from nothing.
-
MOST fortunately, the director said that I won't need to find any actual band instruments for the scene where Elle has a whole marching band as part of her admissions essay (or something like that) to Harvard.
-
Abd all purses and things like that will be supplied by the costumer.
-
Whew!
-
I do have a bike messenger-type book bag that one of the other students could use.
-
The set will be a fairly simple (looking, at least) frame kind of set.
-
It'll be really flexible in terms of how it can be used.
-
I also got a couple of names as contacts from other theater groups for possible props borrowing.
-
Good evening.
-
One more post.
-
Laptops are mentioned several times in the script. :-\
-
I don’t know what is wrong with me.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I don’t know what is wrong with me.
Oh, no! :(
-
This morning I met Sharry for breakfast.
-
It was our only chance to get together until the convention she and Micheal have organized is over.
-
We had a nice breakfast, and then chatted for a bit.
-
I stopped at the store, and then came on home.
-
After checking in here, I was going to work on my book.
-
But as I sat there, my legs from the knees down, began to ache and throb.
-
It continued to get worse and worse
-
It felt like I had just run a marathon, which I had not.
-
It didn’t exactly hurt, but it was more and more uncomfortable.
-
Finally, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, I managed to get myself to my bedroom and climb onto the bed.
-
I napped on and off, but the uncomfortable feelings did,t get any better.
-
Finally, at 7:00 p.m., I took a pain pill and muscle relaxer.
-
They helped enough to get me through the evening, but the feelings never went away.
-
Now, I need to get myself up long enough to clean the litter box and take my night time medications.
-
I hope I can manage to do all of that, and then make it back to bed.
-
It didn’t exactly hurt, but it was more and more uncomfortable.
Yikes!
-
~~~Legs-Feel-Better Vibes for TCB!!~~~
-
I think one easy thing about props will be the magazines, "Elle" and "Town and Country."
-
I don't think that I'll need actual period magazines.
-
I've downloaded a few cover images and will just print them and paste them on some other cheap magazines. ;)
-
After the production meeting, I went to one of the local IHOPs and had one of their new burgers, starting at $6.99 (plus tax).
-
I found part of the vocal CDs in the garage - those were all in the other garage but they boxed this stuff so stupidly - this box is marked properly as "garage CDs" except that most of what's in the box are DVDs. So I probably have to go into the boxes marked DVDS to find the rest. So annoying. Listening to Claudine Longet - interesting but I've always loved her albums.
I always loved Claudine’s, “You Can’t Get A Man With A Gun.”
-
The simplest burger is The Classic, and it's the only burger at $6.99.
-
(https://www.ihop.com/-/media/ihop/lto/2018/lto4/img/lto4_2018_wn_mod3_7.jpg)
-
The $6.99 price includes unlimited fries and a drink.
-
Here in Olympia, the next cheapest burger is the The Classic with Bacon, and adding bacon only cost $3.30 more than The Classic Burger.
:P
-
6!!
-
The basic burger, unlimited fries and soda is not a bad deal for $6.99.
-
However, I don't think that the other burgers are worth the more than $3 increase in price.
